Good idea, but Amazon is the wrong company to execute it, imo. I hope Apple comes out with something like this.

So this thing basically listens to you all day, keeps photos of you on their servers, knows all your activity levels and I'd suggest additional medical data too.................. HELL NO!

Amazon has never been honest or transparent about what data it collects from people in the past and I'd go so far as to suggest this is going to be no different - just far more invasive.

On the other hand, if Apple were to come out with a sensor bracelet combining all the necessary activity / medical data-logging functionality with a battery life of greater than 7 days, I may be interested.....

What do every fitness tracker have to imitate the Apple Watch? The halo's bands are literally a sport loop and Nike sport band clone, and Fitbit's Versa and Sense bands are sport band clones. How hard is it to come up with an ORIGINAL band design?
I think if you searched hard enough, you’d find that Apple’s design is probably seriously inspired by someone else’s. Watches have been around a long time, and every band under the sun had been created BEFORE Apple came along and charged 50 bucks for it.

This is definitely not to compete with the apple watch. Other than the WHOOP strap (www.whoop.com) I don't know of any other "intelligent" fitness assistant that exist.

Sure there are cheap bands like the Mi Smart Band that gathers some metrics, but it doesn't process and analyze the data for you. Neither does my Apple Watch.

Great, it tracked my heart rate during an activity and I have calories burnt. But what else can it tell me? How did I do compared to last time? Was it because I didn't sleep as good? Was it the calories I ate? How hard should I go tomorrow? Is my heart rate not recovering quickly because I am over-training?

So... a wristband that listens to you all the time, processes those recordings in the Amazon Cloud, and also encourages you to take photos of yourself so many more health related gadgets or services can be sold to you.
All this topped with a bracelet-style design, no screen, so that you forget it is there listening to you.

Jeez...

Unfortunately..we live in a dystopia where people are more than happy to make that exchange. Just look at how they upload and store their personal info and pictures into Gmail, Instagram, Facebook, DropBox, and Google Search...They literally buy with their own money and install a listening device in their homes called Alexa Echo...

Apple should be worried ... this is just phase 1... Amazon probably already have 2-3 other versions of this watch with screen waiting for production. If we’ve learned anything from Amazon Alexa devices ... more is coming with Halo.

Creepy! “The second is the ability to listen for emotion in a user's voice and track mood.” / Citizen you are have been placed under arrest for disparaging comments against the state. Turn yourself into nearest authorities. Tap here for directions
It doesn’t have a screen for directions. Authorities will just be sent GPS location coordinates so they can come get you 😂

"we secure your privacy through stringent encryption. Your data will never be seen by human reviewers or stored in an unsecure location. Treating your information with the kindness and respect it deserves is our highest priority." -Amazon

a few moments later…

"yo, we sorry y’all. We had all yo data cached on a server that was legit wide open. They got your half naked pics and everything. We real sorry, tho. Here’s a $20 Amazon gift card and a coupon for Starbucks. We’ll be on Capitol Hill answering some questions but they all getting coupons too so we in the clear." - Also Amazon

Amazon has been working pretty hard on options for people to view what they look like with clothes on before purchasing on Amazon store, I can bet these 3D images many end uploading are going to be used to further that.

I wonder if this is targeted at the intense daily-journaling crowd. That’s really the only segment I can picture reviewing audio snippets from their day . . . or perhaps the George Constanzas of the world 😂

“The jerk store called and they’re running out of you!”

Alexa: You know, if you lost a few pounds, I could order you this one size smaller...

Apple Watch without the screen could be interesting. I don't own one yet, but the biggest selling point for me are the sensors and health app integration. Constant notifications are a negative actually.

You can turn off any notifications you want - which I agree, are annoying, so I do this - but the whole point of the watch for me was to be less reliant on the phone when working out, out in the yard, etc. To each his/her/their own!

Apple: Start your photocopiers PLEASE. I do not want an Apple Watch (still loving my Casio Digital). I would love to have the health measuring components of the AW along with the longer battery life. Also, the ability to deliver health monitoring at what will hopefully be a much lower price vs. the AW has real meaning to society. So PLEASE copy this - but better of course.

In a recent poll I took, there's little interest at least among members here.

Price and affordability takes precedence over some extra privacy features, for most people.

Also they need to do something about look and feel. AW is ugly, needs a non-screen/headless and/or non-rounded-rectangle version IMO.
