For me, performance of the Prime app has always been extremely sluggish. It’ll be nice if this update addresses that.

The day Apple changed their policy to allow these apps compiled with cross platform development tools was one of the biggest ever hits to the Apple ecosystem. Steve was absolutely right about restricting it. Almost every app on the Apple TV is slow and awful and it doesn't matter how good Apple makes TVOS when all the apps for it are optimized for the most loathsome Roku. https://www.macrumors.com/2010/04/1...-restricting-adobe-and-other-cross-compilers/

We cancelled our Prime membership earlier this year. Loathe Amazon as a company but sometimes you do have to bite the bullet and place an order if you need something that is hard to find locally.

So, with that, we have some experience in this boat. Free shipping starts at $25 and it usually takes a couple extra days to get to you. Not a big deal at all for us.

Also, your Prime membership doesn’t end immediately. It will last through your billing month.
What I’ve noticed between my prime and non-prime accounts is that often Amazon also adds “prime savings” on some products on the prime account but does not indicate that it is more expensive on the non-prime product page. It looks like Amazon is trying to quietly get us to pay extra for shipping even if we don’t pay for prime.

I noticed the update on our guest room Roku, but as of 1:25PM, it’s still not available on our Apple TV 4K…

Apple TV app needs to take note. Apple needs to up its UI to be more like Prime, Netflix, and Hulu. As Apple's original content catalog, searching their Original content is getting more and more laborious and confusing.

I like the new format. It's cleaner and easier to use, but the search function is still a little clunky. Now if Amazon would only do something about ALL THAT BUFFERING followed by the "something went wrong" message. It only happens on Prime, not Hulu, Netflix, or any of the other streaming services I use. Only Prime. None of the streaming services is exactly the way I would like them, but Hulu does come closest. It puts your next episode at the top of the page so you can find it easily, unlike Prime where you have to search for it if you happen to remember that there was another episode.

They also try to sneak shipping charges in on free shipping qualifying orders if you're not paying attention. Almost happened to me today. Order qualified for free shipping, but I got to the payment screen and had a moment of "WTH is this order over $50 now?! Oh. You sneaky, sneaky bast..." Had to then select free shipping manually after it defaulted to paid shipping.

Not seeing it yet in Chicago (08/11/22 @14:53 CT). I hope they fix the fast forward and rewind!
I’m not seeing it here yet either. I also can’t get a subscription to work on my Apple TV because the app doesn’t seem to be receiving the six digit code used to verify the device.

I got the six digit code to work by signing into the website via my iPad. I wonder why your ATV failed to receive the notification/authorization? It should work. Maybe there was a glitch in Amazon‘s server.

It could just be the universe telling my wife that 60 Days In is a stupid show.

I don't like that they have turned Prime Video into a portal for other services, it's just another Apple TV app now.

How f-n hard is it for a streaming service to just give me a list of everything in their library and then filter down on genera(s), release years, rating, box office revenue, studio, various review sites, actors, ect.???? 🤦🏼‍♂️
Then you will only watch the best shows which were produced with lots of budget. This is 2022, you should give your time equally to the worst and cheaply produced shows.

Got the new design yesterday on my Apple TV 4K 2022 here in Germany. I noticed that the app didn't get updated (still on a app version from July, App Store shows this date). Either it's a glitch on the App Store page or Amazon just changes the content which the "old" app displays...

i just want to remove the actor info when i pause a show. i'm usually trying to freeze the frame on a building detail, furniture or the occasional penis and the damn UI always gets in the way. who is in the current scene is far from my mind. very annoying.

I thought the old one was bad , this is even worse

Bit too clever for it's own good and the eternal pushing of stuff is just irritating to say the least

UI reminds me of Netflix and Disney plus
