Couple of things. First, now there seems to be no way to clear my view history which I do as a rule because I just happen to like a clean screen. Also, I wish we could scroll through media faster. For instance, if I wanna jump from the beginning to the last five minutes of a show, I have to put on seek at three times and wait for it to get to the end. Isn’t like that with the Apple TV app. Just my two cents.

I subscribe to Stack TV in Canada through Prime and the new interface makes using Stack so much better.

The live TV tab shows a TV guide style grid of what’s on each station during the day and what’s on now. It’s so much easier to see what’s coming on TV through the day.

EDIT: Weirdly, only one of my two Apple TV 4Ks have updated to the new layout. DD8D8401-45D9-44B1-A188-33158D657A8F.jpeg

We cancelled our Prime membership earlier this year. Loathe Amazon as a company but sometimes you do have to bite the bullet and place an order if you need something that is hard to find locally.

So, with that, we have some experience in this boat. Free shipping starts at $25 and it usually takes a couple extra days to get to you. Not a big deal at all for us.

Also, your Prime membership doesn’t end immediately. It will last through your billing month.
Ditto. I also buy from Walmart few times per year. It's not like there's a Target where I'm at, nor any other comparable store (you can only get so much out of a dollar store).

When I cancelled my Prime membership, it was the day before the annual plan resubs, so close enough. That said, it was cutting it close. For most of us, you're better off just cancelling far ahead of time rather than risk forgetting, and just ride out the sub till the renewal date.

All my Apple TV’s had the update now… Honestly I still find this update quite cheap and not approaching at all Netflix or Disney+ UX… Prime UX 🤮

I deleted the app and reinstalled it and I can see the new layout.

But the app version is still dated 12 July for some reason.
IIRC, they updated the TVOS (which would have had the software framework for the new layout, I gather) the week they announced the new layout for Apple TV, but then they didn't roll out the actual new layout for another month.

Worst streaming service out there. Half my shows are so dark due to issues on their end that I can’t watch them

Got my updated Amazon Prime Apple TV app. Very disappointing. There still using what seems to me to be a very poorly designed video player. The rewind and forward feature is not a smooth experience but uses "jumpy" screenshots. Oh well.

The darkness issue is a real problem for me, not just with Amazon Prime, but with other services as well. Night scenes are so dark they are unwatchable. I think cinematographers think they are being artistic by not properly lighting their nighttime filming.

I received the new version. Went through a bunch of titles. Didn't see any unusually dark content. I suspect your TV has hit the skids. Get a quality TV that costs more than $500 and your problems will resolve.

Shaking head in complete disbelief.

What an absolutely horrendous app. I could've sworn one of the purported advantages of the Apple TV was a unified UI across third parties. Even if that wasn't the case, I'd love to see Apple enforce the same player for all apps. You literally can't even scrub through the video. Had to sit there for 5 minutes faffing about with the stupid Siri remote just to see something near the end of a video. I wouldn't have even touched this service had I not gotten a free trial, and I won't be paying for this garbage afterwards.

Shame the content is still rubbish.

A company with the money of Amazon removing Dolby Vision and Atmos because they’re too cheap to pay for the licensing is unforgivable.

Remember when Amazon said they were going to rollout this new look and feel to the iOS app and the web app "in the coming months"?
