I'm suspecting, at least by the way Jason Ziller said it, that only the spec will be open to everyone, to accommodate for a larger number of peripherals, not controllers for everyone. Might be wrong though.
But the words seem to have been carefully chosen. But he also mentions other devices, whatever that means...

A protocol will be open to everybody BUT the controller will be only available in Intel CPU. So AMD CPU wont gonna use TB3 at all. Protocol and controller are different things. Yes, people can make TB3 accessories or computer with TB3 but CPU has to be Intel. Not AMD. Intel wont gonna give controllers to AMD since they have to compete with AMD Ryzen.
there are AMD broads with TB but TB needs video and the high end AMD chips don't have on chip video. Now maybe some server / workstations boards have an on board low end video and IPMI chip all in one. But the HP and others Intel based workstations have TB add in cards with an DP loop back cable.

anyways AMD chips have so much PCI-e they can even do there own X4-X16 ext pci-e cables that don't need to be mixed with video and don't need pci-e to TB chips.

I suppose the reviewers, media, everything also is cherry picking, with claiming that Core i9 7900X is hot and power hungry.

I don't think so :D.
I thought there was going to be a server APU.

But the quad RR should be a good fit for TR4 because of PCIe lanes.

But it could have 8 RAM channels.

TR4+ ?

Probably 8-core dual GPU APU first.

Can the AM4 socket support 8 additional PCIe lanes to make new Ryzen 5 and 7 models with the Threadripper/Epyc dies?

Or should I call it Ryzen 9? ;)

X380?

Unofficial numbers are saying that in just 3 months, AMD market share in consumer market went from 5.5% to... 28%.

Yes, I noticed that in userbenchmark the 1600 is the 6th more popular CPU and the FX-8350 went up to 3rd from its usual 4th place.

The FX-8350 with the old cooler went out of stock at amazon.com .

Yeah... Unofficial numbers... and no link to them... I'll buy that for a dollar (not really).
I do not think, that I have to prove anything to you, because my information turn true even when I do not believe them(look at RX 480 thread, over past page).

But that must be the sales share, not the installed base. In Steam this has not changed much (around 20% trending down).

Yes, I am talking about Sales. Who cares about installed base? We are talking about Market share in sales.

because it invalidate what you were suggesting. Installed based means card sold to people and being used. Sales also account for unsold stock in distributors warehouses.

Nope, every single market share diagram shows always market share from Sales, not installed base. And yes, we are talking about SOLD to customers CPUs. AMD market share right now appears to hover around 28% in this, at least for Q2.
