Is there any reason to buy this if you are satisfied with the functionality of your old apple tv and don't really want any of the new features? Is there any enhancement to the old functions?

So to me it's sounding like some of the games I was hoping to see won't be coming to the AppleTV any time soon. I was really hoping to see Final Fantasy VII on it. Ah well, I'm still getting it any way.

Still find hard to believe that 200CAD Apple TV offers more storage space than base iPhone is that costs more than 4 times of money. Something that I cannot understand

It has almost nothing to do with the cost of storage. A phone is considerably more complex with a high-res touch display, battery, battery charger, phone modem, power amplifier, and on and on. Also, the price of a device is a strong function of competition and consumer demand. People are willing to pay much more for an iPhone because of that and the utility it offers.

I sure wish you people would speak plain English, instead of techno speak, when you write these articles. I have no idea what you are talking about!

As an average consumer, disenfranchised by modern television and movies, I am trying to discover even a little poop to give.

The apps aren't enough to wow me into spending $149+. Apple has put itself into a niche market it hopes to expand soon, but it hasn't expanded yet. They need killer apps and much less expensive content to buy (rent). It would be nice to use that thing more than once a month. So far it appears to be a PS3/4, but without the great games or optical drive, etc etc etc. It is just an extra box next to a couple other boxes on the TV console.

Wow. Nice move, Apple. Let's add Apple TV 4th Gen to their growing list of recent fails. I'll stick with my 3rd Gen and wait till the dust settles. Also, why can't I play games against other people online? For me that is a game changer, but with Tim Cook at the helm I should learn to lower my expectation bar.

Apple offered the 64 for a reason. You might regret the 32.
What are you talking about and why bring that up here? And since you did, my watch isn't so small, has a fine processor, and it's battery is great. Sorry to hear you got a defective watch. Did you try to return it?

I have plenty of stuff running on my watch. No problems whatsoever.

How do you know that 64 gb won't be enough? And why do you need this to be in rose gold?

If you don't want the new one, keep your old one. Read about the product to see what is new.

Lighten up SS. This isn't that serious. Besides, it might help you get some party invites.:D

So in other words, every developer is having to go throw lots of steps and lots of pain to make their app work because Apple is cheap and won't put in 64 GB and 128 GB?

I feel like the Apple TV is going to end up like the Apple watch, AKA no apps!:(

And think for a couple of $100s extra it could just be a low end mini. I think this is more about lock-in than the Apple it just works experience.

Plan on staying with my appletv3, as I only airplay and home share through it. Wonder if it will be getting a software update on release day as well?

This is just like the developer whining about handles back in the day. "Oh, you mean I actually have to keep track of my app's resources? But that's hard!"

The Internet is always on. Deal with it. You don't even have to host it on your own server, if you don't want to.

No. If you don't want any of the new specs, features, tvOS, remote, or apps, why would you pay for a new Apple TV? Seems like you answered your own question.
