I think Apple has an interesting take on the iPad-as-computer concept.
While many will point out that the cost of a decent iPad plus a magic keyboard costs about the same or nearly as much as a decent MacBook Pro, by developing a great tablet and a great keyboard separately, it hits a Market that a notebook doesn’t and one a thlet doesn’t for less.
Need only a tablet? iPad
Need a laptop. MacBook
Need a laptop occasionally but you already own an iPad: just add magic keyboard for $300
It can save some people some money.
If you need MacOS, well then the answer is obvious. But soon a MacBook ARM might solve that.
Isn’t a MacBook ARM just going to be an iPad with a keyboard? Hmmmmm...
