Each icon has an extremely clear and in no way hidden message.
The phone icon tells us they have a message for us.
That's it.
Each icon has an extremely clear and in no way hidden message.
The calendar icon tells us the date of the event.
The clock tells us the time of the event.
The Maps icon tells us where the event is (yes, the icon has a real highway and street layout on it...of the Apple campus in Cupertino).
The phone icon tells us they have a message for us.
That's it.
You forgot the most obvious part of the invitation, the part that says "Let talk iPhone", what could that mean?
Noway just wait until 4th Oct....defenitly we'll see two iPhones!!!
Explanation why...?
When apple release their iPhone 4 (antenna issue) lots of blah blah ...
"you are not holding it right way"
even we started thinking maybe they are gonna recall iPhone 4.
So, keep all that in mind.....it's time to show apple about their innovation, a whole new design iPhone 5 new IOS5 and iPhone 4G with new antena and A5 chip.
The 1 badge has nothing to do with there being just one iPhone. They want everyone to think that this is the case so that when the true 5 is introduced, people will be even more excited about it because their expectations were lower.
This is what the phone icon with badge will end up meaning:
They do the presentation, introduce the iPhone 5 and the 4S. At the end, just before they are about to wrap up, everyone will hear the new voicemail alert sound. Whoever is presenting will play the voicemail, and it will be a quick recording from Jobs saying 'Just wanted to remind you to tell them about the amazing new Assistant feature'.
I would bet that all it has to do with is the iOS5 notification revamp.
John Gruber is hinting that the icon in the invite is a sign that we are getting one iPhone. His words....
"Something tells me there’s only one new iPhone."
Look, I'm fully prepared for a 5th generation iPhone that looks almost identical to the iP4. Fine. So be it. But that's also incredibly disappointing. I won't start bitching until the keynote is over.
Mystery solved. Gruber is right 100% of the time.
