Yeah its quite idiotic ... the ultimate surveillance state in the name of pushing you 'the right' ad. Who can believe that ..

Anyway, i think it's best to tell your friends again and again how bad it is to use that stuff and that you don't wish your picture to be on those platforms. They are loosing billions right now every year - a little push might go a long way

Ist must be nice to own a platform that allows you instantly blackmail anyone that comes in your way. Politicians aren't stupid so there is no REAL pushback whatsoever ....

Thing is, this reflects a generational difference. Politicians are afraid of blackmail because old boomers are their core voting block. The young are basically past shame and just live in the world with the fundamental knowledge that everyone, if you turn over the right rock, is bad from some perspective.
