Launching new iPhones twice a year makes sense. All the competitors do that. You can't wait 12 months to adopt "new" technologies like ToF and 5x optical zoom when competitors launched it 9 months ago.
Assuming Apple has something ‘new’ to add every 6 months.

Yeah the only way I see Apple moving to a 6 month cadence is by releasing the regular iPhone 6 months after the iPhone Pro to create more separation between the two devices.

"Unfortunately I think there’s a logical position to making the smaller phone lower-end"

The logical reason would be that a 5.4" would be too small to pack all the technology of the Pro series and a big enough battery to ensure a decent battery life.

Grrrr...You unload this one when I'm trying to decide on the 11s! 😂 My SE screen is getting harder to see!

People went with the 5.8” because it was a flagship. If it was solely about screen size they would’ve gone to the lower-end 6.1” model. And saying the 5.8” allows enough single-handed use is hilarious when you can’t reach the entirety of the screen without doing hand gymnastics with the phone.
Now who’s generalising?

I’m saying most people are happy with their 5.8” & wouldn’t want to go back to a smaller screen.

There was no offence intended by this. By backwards, I meant back to a screen size of former models, not in quality of device.

I think you quoted the wrong post, because I didn't accuse anyone of generalizing.

Does that mean the "SE2" will have 5G as well? I guess we shall see when the new phones are actually announced next year.

Since most people won't get use out of 5g for a number of years I'd be fine if they left it out and kept the price down.

Coming from a point of view of the majority who own the 5.8”, going back to a smaller screen size is against why this majority went to the 5.8“ - for the bigger screen over that of the prior gen iPhones.

That is an impractical option, for those happy with the 5.8”.

Understand that the iPhone X hit the nail on the head for many because it allowed enough of single handed use in portrait whilst retaining a decent landscape aspect ratio for emails, webpages, YouTube etc. All in a pocketable package. We lose that when we go to either 5.4” or 6.7”.

Anyway, these are just rumours. Let’s hope there are enough options for all of us.
I agree. I have steadily gone down in size. From generations of Plus phones ending with the 7 Plus, down to the XR which felt really small for a while, and now to the 5.8” 11 Pro. The 11 Pro is the sweet spot for me. Plenty big for content, small enough to pocket, zero compromises on features. It’s perfect.
