Analyst Believes Apple Will Unveil Netbooks at Macworld

They will probably introduce alot of things at macworld...but with the recession, they had to cut a few corners.

But I thought Steve's "HIGHER" connections make Apple recession proof...

If netbooks can't run OSX, someone needs to tell my Acer Aspire One to just stop it. Why is it that so many think that if Apple isn't already doing it, it's stupid or un-doable?

The fact is that this little bugger runs OSX as good as similarly CPU-spec'd MacBooks (the gfx is the same as the previous-to-last generation MacBooks, which still sell sometimes even now in the refurb store), and the lack of an optical drive is hardly a problem. I bought a portable DVD burner for it too and haven't had to unbox it yet.

The little MacMidget is a lot more portable and handy to use than my MacMini, and I don't need to contort my body to reach behind it to plug in my iPhone, either. I'm working on iPhone code on it right now, in fact.

If Steve doesn't wake up and smell the coffee, he's going to force Apple to have to play catch up in an area that is currently an exploding gold mine. I think he probably already has and is being coy about it. There are a LOT of people who did the same thing as I have, because the current MacBooks are either too expensive (aluminums and Airs) or grossly overpriced for what you actually get (whitebooks).

Well done Apple - I enjoyed seeing all those amazing new netbooks, Mac Minis and iMacs the other day...

My bet is that Steve wouldn't trust Phil to release them - We will have to wait till he recovers from his Hormone problems... So hopefully some time in March, April...

I read an article on Wednesday morning (7th Jan 2009) before I had seen the news of the MWSF... It stated something about the new iphone nano and a new iphone with TWO screens (nintendo ds flavour)... I thought WTF!?!?!?!?!? Got to work, checked macrumors... and found out no new mini, no new netbook and definitely no dual screen iphone! Ahh you gotta love journalists! Apparently this guy was at MWSF...
