If netbooks can't run OSX, someone needs to tell my Acer Aspire One to just stop it. Why is it that so many think that if Apple isn't already doing it, it's stupid or un-doable?
The fact is that this little bugger runs OSX as good as similarly CPU-spec'd MacBooks (the gfx is the same as the previous-to-last generation MacBooks, which still sell sometimes even now in the refurb store), and the lack of an optical drive is hardly a problem. I bought a portable DVD burner for it too and haven't had to unbox it yet.
The little MacMidget is a lot more portable and handy to use than my MacMini, and I don't need to contort my body to reach behind it to plug in my iPhone, either. I'm working on iPhone code on it right now, in fact.
If Steve doesn't wake up and smell the coffee, he's going to force Apple to have to play catch up in an area that is currently an exploding gold mine. I think he probably already has and is being coy about it. There are a LOT of people who did the same thing as I have, because the current MacBooks are either too expensive (aluminums and Airs) or grossly overpriced for what you actually get (whitebooks).
