Can someone please explain all the talk of the iPhone in China ? This has popped up in quite a few stories recently. Yet the iPhone already is in China...
What's so special about this ?
Judging by the sudden and extreme increase in the Apple stock today, I would say that this is VERY likely. Wall Street insiders normally have much more insight than the general public.
I hope it doesnt look like that......it looks like a toy...
This design is far superior to the design above

If they do make a Chinese-centric iPhone, I wonder if it will include some kind of stylus? Fact is they are the best way to input the many thousands of characters that make up their writing system.
I'm a little concerned that we haven't seen any part leaks for a significantly redesigned iPhone.
Perhaps the iPhone 5 it's the LTE version that launches next spring? And the iPhone 4s is a stopgap. Or perhaps the iPhone 5 is a high-end "Pro" line that will launch later alongside the iPhone 4.
What is this "world-mode" descriptive? What exactly does that mean? That means it can work in any cell phone system across the world, but locally, or it can become a phone which can be used by travelers from anywhere in the world? That's a term I have never heard before.
Anyway, someone said analysts are forum members that found a way to get paid. So true. Anyone could "predict" these things, the predictions forgotten after the real deal is released. "Psychic busted by cops--didn't see it coming."
Why would they suddenly make a Chinese-centric iPhone ? China got the same iPhone 4 that everyone else got.
Doesn't make sense to me at all.
It's going to be cheaper and therefore better suited to the broader Chinese market.
Not that difficult to comprehend surely?
This should also be the first iphone to be available via China Mobile, the state carrier, giving them better access to hundreds of millions of customers.
China also has the 3GS available, like all other markets, as a "cheaper" alternative.
I still don't get why people are making a big deal of the "iPhone coming to China" when it's already released there.
Basically, I don't understand why people think that a China iPhone would be soooo surprising.

yes, thanks for that newsflash
the iphone4 will be seen as a much more attractive proposition
It is a big deal however; making bigger and bigger inroads into a potentially gigantic market is (unsurprisingly) obviously being seen as important to Apple and their future.
Looks dated by now. Time to move on to a new look.
