Word. The kids hate on AT&T because their lame friends tell them to. Seriously, if Apple had gone with Verizon originally (or, to be more accurate, if Verizon hadn't been dumb enough to turn Apple away), we'd be hearing about how much Verizon sucked. The more successful Apple becomes, the louder and more agitated the online anti-Apple chatter.

Here's the bottom line: ALL WIRELESS CARRIERS SUCK. The end.

I Concur brother..People hate to see companies that are successful. I Suppose it's the whole underdog syndrome. But eventually the underdog becomes a rockstar. And What's funny is the only reason people hate others and things who are successful is usually because they are insecure.

Verizon's share prices have done better than AT&T share prices since June 2007 when the first iphone was launched.

It means only ONE thing --- Verizon's decision was the correct one.

I Can tell you what has hurt AT&T's stock price since i work for them. It's the fact that they spent alot on the U-Verse rollout which has alot of problems and unhappy customers. As well as AT&T is still digesting Bell South and the fact that the landline sector of AT&T is in decline.

Spin it about the iphone all you want but it's not.

VZ has FIOS (which is far more costier to build than U-Verse), and their landline sector is also in decline.

VZW is more profitable and has higher margins than AT&T Wireless.

It pains me to say this but I am really contemplating ditching my iPhone because I have essentially ZERO signal in my home. AT&T's signal has gotten markedly worse in the past few months and when I've called and emailed to complain about it, I get smoke blown up my butt...

I run my business through my cell phone and not getting calls is a really bad thing. Verizon works a lot better.

Oh, and when I ask about their 'microcell' technology I get blank stares and more smoke. I'm getting tired of the BS. VERY tired... And mad enough to buy my way out of my AT&T contract to dump them cold!!! The wonderful technology of the iPhone isn't worth bull spit if the signal sucks. Hi Steve! Get a clue! Tying the iPhone to AT&T is tying it to a cruise ship boat anchor!

If it wasn't for me moving to another city, I would still be in the position that you were in.

I thankfully got a new job and moved to the DC area and now have GREAT service but the previous one saw me get atrocious service wherever I was in several other cities

Your business logic processor needs recalibration. Tracking share prices is not a good barometer of success when it comes to the iPhone decision. Who's to say Verizon's share prices wouldn't be far higher right now (and AT&T's far lower) if Verizon hadn't rejected the iPhone?

To argue that Verizon turning down the iPhone was a smart move seems silly in light of iPhone sales numbers (and mindshare).

To many what if's in your theory.

The only thing we can be sure of is that VZW has done better than AT&T Wireless since the iphone was launched. I don't see any evidence backing your initial argument that VZ was dumb to turn down the iphone.
