Maybe this is a fools measure, but in the past 2 months, I have seen more and more people using the Ipad on the train, and have been seeing a greater number of them in public areas. Originally I thought people only used them for an at home television alternative, as an alternative to a paper newspaper, or for Skyping, but now I'm not so sure. I anticipate that the numbers for this quarter are very understated. Though of course this is based on completely unscientific methods. Anyone else notice this?

I've noticed more and more. But of course you are going to notice them, Apple is selling millions every quarter and almost none of those millions are replacements for an "old" iPad that is going out of circulation. So there will be more and more out there. Since Apple was supply constrained, there is a limit to how many iPads they could sell. So the analysts might not be that far off market. It really would be scary if Apple could get a successful flagship product out without significant supply constraints. I'm not just talking about the US Apple stores, I'm talking about having full capacity to deliver world wide during the first quarter of a products lifecycle. If they could do that with iPhone 5 or iPad 3, then we would see some really impressive sales numbers.

I hope they make a trillion dollar profit per quarter. Would that be enough to satisfy the fanboys or would they want more?

You say Fanboy, I say smart consumer. Regardless of if the product has a practical function or is economical, Apple products will sell because of the experience of owning it. To those with the means to own the products, the experience is invaluable. Why settle for anything less than the best? There are certain things that people won't skimp out on, even during tough economic times - and experiences such as these are reason enough to continue to buy the product. Apple only has a market share of about 4-5%? Imagine what would happen if that number doubled, tripled, quadrupled. I see Apple being the first trillion dollar company within 4 years, and I'm betting 60% of my portfolio on that belief. Then again, thats are just my 2 cents.

Is Apple the best or just expensive? Or is it superior marketing? How does Apple make those huge profits on such a small market share? Their products don't cost a lot to make and they are priced hight, hence the huge profits. Of course only an Apple customer is happy about that. It it was any other company the fanboys would be crying foul and claiming that the profit was unfare.
How's Final Cut Pro X sitting with the real pros, not the wannabees? Is having Steve dictate what you can have and not have part of the experience? Apple doesn't care about the professional, it's a harder sell. It's much easier to sell to the brainwashed masses. Is that what the wealthy desire?
Did you buy Apple stock when it was cheap? Or do you think it will be $1000 share in 4 years?

My average pps is about 330, and I do expect 1000 per share. The earnings speak for themselves. I wanted to buy after the fall to 120, but did not have the cash at the time. Apple is a good company that demands a premium for their products, which people are glad to pay, because of well targeted advertising, and the fact that they sell a quality product. Askan Apple owner why they own apple, and they will tell you it is because it is small, reliable, and gets the job done. Name one company that provides the same type of experience, quality product, and brand satisfaction, and I will gladly concede.
