Stinks for people trying to get one. I was one of the lucky ones and got two on launch day (one for me, one for the GF). Great phone plus mine doesn't exhibit any battery issues.

Floods

Quite a few industrial areas are under water in Thailand.
Are some Apple components manufactured there I wonder?

Just the water-cooled PowerMac G5 systems.

;)

Seriously, a lot of hard drives are made in Thailand (try http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=thailand+floods+disk&ei=utf-8&fr=ie8 for example), and disk prices are climbing rapidly as a result of the floods.

If you didn't see any great deals on hard drives for Black Friday, blame the floods.

I don't normally do this on a public forum, but let me put on my "analyst" hat for a moment...

My analysis indicates that these supply constraints are indicative of a Q1 launch of the next-gen iPhone. I predict that this model may be called iPhone5, with the "5" referring to the predicted (by me) 5-inch screen size. Please visit my website (and don't forget to click on the ads) for in-depth elaboration and pontification on my cursory analysis.

i can't wait till i see this quoted on some news blog as coming from a "source familiar with the matter". good show, kind sir.
