OMG! Nothing about new MBP. I've been waiting since November.( it's preaty tough. Hope the apple just keeps the secret about new notebooks. And surprised us at 27th. Cross my fingers.

I want to change my career aspirations to become one of these analysts. Getting paid to make **** up based on vague rumors and controlled leaks?

Yes please.

Everyone expects this tablet will be able to do EVERYTHING. You guys do realize that this is Apple we're talking about right? The tablet is going to do what Apple wants it to do and we're all still going to buy it even if it's missing the most basic features and is locked down tight so that we have to hack it to make it do more.

Analysts do not know Apple as well as they think they do. Verizon? Hah! Yeah right.

That's all I have to say.

Come back and quote my post on the 27th if I'm wrong. Really.

So if no iSlate on Verizon then no iPhone there too? I'd be tempted to stay with AT&T if Verizon gets the iPhone. Then I could watch the mighty Verizon network degrade and AT&T get better after people bail.

My question is, what happened to the "full Mac OS X or bust" crowd?

I think many of us would like to see Mac OSX. But it really was designed for the mouse and cursor. It probably wouldn't be that easy to use unless it was seriously modified. The good thing is, 3D graphics in the UI are speculated and hopefully Aqua.

The lack of simultaneous voice and data is still a deal breaker for me.

To bad verizon is way better than AT&T!

Let me tether my 3G connection via my iPhone!!

I already pay two internet bills per month (Time Warner for home and AT&T for mobile). I will not sign up for a redundant third.

Richard Doherty of Envisioneering Group - You best along the correct lines. Show stoppers for all! We all know a touchscreen iMac is in the pipeline, get on with the show.

That price point would be awesome!! :D

I think if they went this thing to be huge, it shouldn't be over $800! They want normal everyday people to buy one. Not just the hardcore Apple crowd like us lol

Like I said before, get my mother to buy one! (Like with the iPhone when it dropped to $199)

if the base model comes in at a price point of 599, i imagine i will be owning it! Assuming it will have app store/ebook reader functions. I find my self reading ebooks on my iPhone all the time via stanza, and Kindle app. I was going to pick up the kindle, but this could definitely sway my thoughts quickly.

seems reasonable to. with iPod touch coming in at 299. a larger screen, and being a little more beefed up could definitely allow them to sell it for 599.

If or when they release this, it would be awesome if it kinda looked like the iMac G4 with a detachable screen. The base could be used as a docking/charging station and you wouldn't lose the optical drive and all the ports, etc.

We can dream, can;t we...

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)

If they do go with verizon how does this effect world wide distro. I though verizon was not a GSM network and used something else. Can't see apple wanting to develope multiple devices for different regions

These guys never know what they are talking about.

Do they ever get this stuff right?

I believe that for most people 3G connection on a tablet (or any 9"+ device) is not important. Very few people would carry such device outside their residence anyways. Because of that, there is no way that the tablet will require such a plan. It could perhaps allow for one but not require it.

iMac touch screen is a non-starter. I, nor anyone I know, would have an use for one. This may have kiosk application, but not home use. Personal PC touchscreen is failing in sales, a technology trying to push a supposed need.

Hmmm...just can't agree with you there t-bird :)
I think a touch screen iMac would have enormous potential in music and video production as well as any software application requiring a control panel type interface.
No more mousing around...just straight t the button/slider etc.
I just do not understand the overwhelming negative attitude to this product.
Think outside the box for a minute and you might see how with some basic changes to software layout this could become the way of the future.
remember Apple has been working on touch and gesture control for several years and i have a feeling that they are about to break the mold again :D
Of the 4 items mentioned in this article, the iMac touch is the one that gets my juices flowing the most.
But I guess time will tell eh.

Looks like the Mac Pro isn't coming out any time soon either...gotta wait till March I guess...

So are we expected to have to use another wireless carrier if we have an iPhone already. NO WAY for this camper. Hope this is a rumor with no foundation in truth. Not that I'm a player if it is the giant iTouch it is rumored to be. Probably gonna be cool and sell millions...just not my thing.
And straying a bit off subject....I was hoping for a MacBook Pro upgrade...but seems very quiet on that front.
