Tough luck I guess.

Working with my naked iPhone 6+ since launch without any bending or any other issues. Carry it in every pocket except back.

Agreed. I did slip my 6 into Sedio Surface holster of which is very light and thin and does nothing but prevent scratches and have not looked back. The 6 seem rather robust to me and would take a good bit of pressure to bend it.

Why are people so quick to assume that it is their phones that are bent, and not their tables?

I'd much sooner believe a table, usually made out of soft wood, plastic, or thin metal, and has heavy things put on it or leaning against it, isn't perfectly and uniformly straight and level before I believe my phone is bent.

Agreed.

Only surface I'll test on is my granite countertop - and even that's not perfect - both my 6 and my Air 2 lay flat in numerous places - except in one spot they both have a little wobble when glass down, so it seems even the granite isn't perfectly flat in that one spot.

Get a straightedge. Lay it on the table top in a dark room. Shine a flashlight toward the straightedge where it lay on the table. You'll either see light shining past where the edge meets the table or you won't. If not, that axis is flat. Retest at that same spot, except perpendicular to where you started. If both tests pass, then put the phone onto that confirmed flat spot.

What's the point of these threads anymore? Even if you verified your table was flat with a metal straight edge you'd just get someone telling you you have a defective straight edge.

Just take your old iphone and test it against the same surface. If that old phone sits flat with no wobble, then you know the table is flat.

If you have AC+ I would just wait until you have a more serious incident. If the bend does not really bother you, stick it out. I am sure it will take a fall soon enough :)

The back of my iPhone 6 is slightly convex, but if I put a metal ruler against the sides, it's perfectly straight, so maybe that's what's going on with yours too. Try to put a ruler against the aluminum edge just outside of the glass part. There should be enough of a lip there to stick a ruler to it.

Every side of my iPhone is straight, but if I lay it glass-down and put a ruler in the very center of the back, the ruler will rock back and forth.

Or is the other iPhone bent by the same amount as the table surface? ;-)

Oh, that's why your screen name is "cynics" :D

Im just back from the Genius Bar in Glasgow, noticed last night my 6 screen was coming away from the rear case around the volume button, genius told me its bent!!! This is not 6+ regular 6, Ive had it in a clear plastic hard shell since i got it in October. Genius said you obvioulsy keep it in your back pocket, which i do not! always front left pocket or jacket! They have ordered me a replacement as a good will one off gesture!

Sorry to hear that you bent your phone

I once dropped my phone and chipped part of the case.

No, someone would tell them that they did something to bend their phone.
The title is silly "And it bent" - as if it happened by itself - like "my car got into an accident".

Okay for THAT situation I can understand the need for a replacement. What I can't understand are all these tests using tables and rulers and flashlights looking for very slight wobbles. If the phone looks good in the hand and works great, why do you all go looking for trouble with the phone?

There are all kinds of defects out there that would affect usage so why would anyone risk getting a replacement with one of those issues just to get rid of a flaw that may not really exist or requires extraordinary effort to detect?

It's not my phone so I don't care what folks do with the ones they think are bent. It sounds like I'm making a criticism but really I'm not, so I apologize straightaway for that. I'm genuinely puzzled and curious. It sounds like folks are putting themselves through a lot of aggravation and anxiety.

He laid it glass up though, could just be the camera lens.

So, I've had my iPhone 6 since September and I've now noticed it has ever so slightly bent.
That sucks! Let's hope that Apple can use better materials and/or better design the cases for the iP6s. People shouldn't have to wrap their phones in big, bulky cases just so they won't bend.

It's a shame but just like with antenna design/placement, I am sure that Apple will do better next time. Until then, buy AppleCare+ for your device!!!!! At least they are replacing these bent phones.

That implication only applies through interpretation. I didn't take it as it bent itself, more of it bent just not sure how.

You forgot the word "correct" before the word "interpretation" .
If someone wanted to place the responsibility on their actions, they would write "Somehow I bent my phone". If they wanted to blame the phone, they would write "It bent".
