I did the iPhone transfer and setup from my old iPhone X and now everything works on the 11 pro except cellular. Tried restarts, airplane mode but it’s like there’s no plan or way to activate on at&t???

That’s why I do the SIM swap and just trash the new one.

You can only do that if it’s not on ATT next. Cause every year I do it and it doesn’t activate. I stick the new sim back in and it’s activated. Mine went smooth this year tho. Restored and working in 20 min

My unit arrived today from ATT and my activation when thru immediately. Didn't have to wait 10 seconds.

Also when I looked at the Apple site last Sunday they indicated I would receive a 11 Pro in early Oct. The ATT site was able to deliver it today, No issues for me with ATT this go around.

I was stuck on activation for 20 minutes, and when I did a hard reset, the phone let me set up and activate no problem. I think it is activating, but getting stuck on the screen. Hope this helps anyone else with this issue

So I moved my SIM into my new phone from my XR, and now everything is recognizing my new phone as an XR. IDK what to do about unpairing and repairing my watch because of that.

Trying to just go ahead and activate the dang SIM that came with the new phone, but just sitting on ATT.com waiting...

WWYD?

Did a hard reset and appears to have worked. Hopefully that helps anyone whose phone is hanging on activation.

I just tried that and zero luck. My screen is just sitting there saying it’s activating, but my phone still has no service

I'm also having activation issues on AT&T (I'm on the Next plan, coming from an XS.) I'm using the new sim that came in the phone (if memory serves correct, I've never actually swapped the sims between old/new devices, only removed old sims to trash them.) I had transferred everything from the phone via that phone2phone method, not sure what it's called, first time I haven't restored from iCloud backup, just my luck.

Anyways, the iPhone XS told me the transfer was complete, but the 11 Pro was stuck at 90% or so completion, and the power button wasn't doing anything, so I hard reset, it completed setup. However, both the XS and the 11 Pro both show zero data signal. Sigh. Hope this is resolved soon! Glad I found this thread so I know it's not only me…

I actually just got it done. I just put the new SIM back in the 11, and did the ATT activation and it finished in like 2 minutes - old phone lost signal, 11 picked it up.

It appears that the first time I tried to activate, it was also trying to activate my grandson’s iPad line. I cancelled and then clicked just my phone, and it was done in 2 minutes or less. Then I clicked and activated the cellular on his pad in 2 minutes or less.

Then the watch asked me if I wanted to sync to the 11, I said yes, and it sync’d up in a few minutes.

Now, if I could just get the watch software to update. That stuff takes forever!

Mine works now. What I also just realized, San Francisco has had a power outage downtown today, so a lot of extra pressure on AT&T's towers I think, coupled with all the people trying to setup their new phones here – probably didn't help.

What I did was manually activate my device via the AT&T website, and then my phone numbers/mac started getting confirmations, etc. Basically took HOURS though.

Even though I can see bars and an LTE indictor, my phone still insists on trying to activate, then it tells me that AT&T can't verify my identity.

With an Apple engineer, and they are contacting AT&T. Never had this mess before.

How do you activate for att? I had to put my sim in the 11 pro from my X to get cellular to work.

Put my old SIM in after trying three different sales reps and one Apple rep to figure out why activation was hanging or telling me that I had a lock on my account. It ended up working. For reference, use the account holders billing address and account holders last 4 of social

My final resolution - returned the messed up unit, bought an unlocked one that, surprisingly, my Apple store had in stock.
