Few questions, I haven't been on iphone since the 4.

Can you go to a website and download a pdf? A menu from a restaurant for example.

Can you go to a website and download a video? A mp4 of a recorded presentation for example.

Can I use drive, dropbox, box, etc if I want? For picture backup.

Trying to figure out what I need to adjust if I switch. I'm a habitual switcher, but I would hope to keep the 6 at least 12 months since I'm spending a little more $ than usual.

I use Dropbox for automatic picture and video backup from my iPad. On my wife's iPhone, she uses Google+ to automatically back up hers.

I am much like the OP. I've been with Android for quite a few years. I got into rooting and custom ROMs almost immediately, because it could really turn a mediocre budget Android phone into a pretty nice experience. I'm currently on a Galaxy S3 running rooted stock Touchwiz. I'm feeling the itch to upgrade.

As much as I've enjoyed Android, I've been a Mac user for a long time, and I love my iPad mini. It seems a natural evolution to move over to iPhone 6.

I've been doing the now classic debate of 6 vs 6+. I spent some time in the Apple Store going back and forth, and as expected, the 6 feels a little too small, and the 6 Plus feels a little too big. I have no issue with the 5.5" screen, it's just the excessive body size on it. The 6 is only .1" smaller than my GS3's screen, but I can feel it. And I'm not crazy about cramping things up even by a little.
I may have to spend a little more time at the Apple Store. But I do feel like the 6 Plus is calling my name. I remember the day that I got my Galaxy S3 and how huge it felt when compared to the 3.7" screen I had before it. I wondered if I'd ever get used to it. Now it feels normal. I wonder if the 6 Plus would eventually achieve the same status for me, where it will feel "normal" and anything smaller will seem puny.

Also, my eyes ain't getting any younger, and though my vision is still pretty great, I always appreciate bigger text, bigger buttons, bigger everything.

Welcome OP! I personally used Android, however it was only for a very short time between a dumb phone and the iPhone. I'd say 3-6 months tops as it was a friends old phone (Droid 2). After that, the Verizon iPhone 4 was announced and I was one of the first preorders. I got mine a few days early and I loved it. I was never in to the whole customization scene, as I'm really more of a hardware guy then software guy so the iPhone was a perfect fit.

The only problem was I was a tall guy too, the 6 Plus fits perfectly in my hand and I love it. Best phone I have had to date. I've been getting 14 hours of usage (about 1 day for me) from the phone. It's probably the fact that I've been using it a lot since getting it and it's completely replaced my iPad. I don't even miss it. I sold it and am putting that money towards :apple:Watch. :D

Motorola Atrix. It was a beast for its time... first dual core CPU in a smartphone, fingerprint scanner, a gig of RAM, etc, etc. Won best in show at CES 2011.

My my... how far we've come in the last 2 - 3 years.

Curious, how was the fingerprint scanner on the Atrix compared to the 6+?

Motorola Atrix. It was a beast for its time... first dual core CPU in a smartphone, fingerprint scanner, a gig of RAM, etc, etc. Won best in show at CES 2011. It became such a pain to use it recently that I ended up borrowing a Note 3 to use until I got my iPhone. That was better but still not a great experience.

:D Ancient and particularly not their best build. Hope you don't have any problems with your new device. Have fun!

Sooooooooooooo.

What did you do since Dec. 2007 when you registered. What? 7 years? Tell me. What did you do?

Just.

Trolllllllllllllll????:D

Good job crossing over the perennial bridge.

I tried Blackberry and Android OS all while owning iPhones since 2007, and Apple really has it's game together overall versus other platforms.

I used to have a PowerBook G4 and Mac Mini (G4). Still have them actually, just no longer use them. I got into building my own computers and didn't post on these forums for a few years. I've always been lurking and reading the front page though.

everytime i see this topic hit the front iphone forum...

im like, i love my iPhone 6+ too.
but i cld imagine how much u love it more than me because u were an android user..

n im like.. SOOO JEALOUS.

I too am considering switching. I had the original Motorola Droid, followed by a horrendous experience with the HTC Thunderbolt, and the Galaxy S3. Rooting and flashing ROMs has become a mess, especially since I have a Mac. It's a shame, because there are definitely some great things about Android that I'd prefer over an iPhone. I guess I'll at least wait to see if the Nexus comes to Verizon.
