And that is the reason i would like more cross-platform options. Forexample on iPhone i use gmail, google search, and other google apps if available. But seems like every major vendor wants a lock in. Google has its own services, apple has its own, MS now is creating their eco system. There is very less cross-platform support and IMO that sucks.

I go for cross platform options when I can.
But of the cross platform options out there lets face it Google is the best and I will say least restrictive. Apple is on the other end of the spectrum and by far the most restrictive.

Google services work great on everyone but iOS and that is mostly Apple's doing for the problems there. Google voice works cross platform just fine. Google email and contact syncing works great cross platform. They do not have these insane lock in like Apple does.
MS yeah that one is a bit more lock in but for the most part they are not to bad. Apple well in that department Apple sucks.

I don't consider myself stuck. I like to buy high quality gadgets.

That's my response to this question, and my response to the people calling me an Apple fanboy asking if I was mourning the death of Steve Jobs.

I'm just a person who likes to spend my money on high quality gadgets, that look nice and work seamlessly together.

I never owned a Mac until I bought an iPhone, the iPhone was my gateway into Apple. I don't feel stuck, I like being here

..but yes, in answer to the question... My car has an iPhone/iPod control built in, Bose iPhone/iPod dock in the house etc etc....

These are the pitfalls denounced by the Free Software Foundation and Richard M. Stallman. Vendor lock-in through proprietary systems that are closed to interoperability with no option for the user to even get their hands on a standard draft or source code to modify/port to another system.

That's why I love open source software. If something gets abandonned, I can pick it up, make it work/modify it/continue it myself or lacking the necessary talent, can get someone that is able to to do it.

Please show me a DVS system that runs on Linux, love to hit you up on that ****.

It just means you dont have to worry about paying for it and when you get another phone, you can get them on it. All your music, movies, books, contacts,etc... will show up as soon as you sync it to your gmail account on your new phone.
Google also has Google music too which will also sync up with your phone. You dont even need to put music on your phone in your memory. Just put it in Google music but i also have it on my microcard that goes with me as well.

Are saying that if I buy an Android app using my google account from company/developer which has the same app for Win 7 mobile, I won't have to pay for it again on Win 7 Mobile?
