For the reasons of me being a complete sucker, I just ordered the GW Ultra in Silver this time. I think the reason why I didn't like the first one was because that Silver White color just wasn't my vibe. I think the Silver looks a lot sleeker. I didn't go for the all black because I don't want all that orange. I'm going to see if I like this one more. After a month with the Watch 6 Classic, while I love the look and bezel, the performance isn't great. Sometimes it seems to struggle to respond after initially waking up. Also, viewing angles in the sun aren't great, we'll see if the Ultra fixes that. Getting it for $420 at Walmart was nice too.

It sure is entertaining keeping up with your purchases my friend 😜

I'm still digging the all black but I'm also wanting the silver with white marine band.

The black has held up really well. Great, solid overall look but I like the idea of the white and silver for dressier occasions.

Haha yeah I go through my phases for sure. 🤣

Curious. Do you notice that when you're viewing from an angle outside, that you have a decent view of the watch face, or does it have a glare? That's probably my biggest complaint about the 6 Classic.

I don't get much glare at all from it in my use. Was great all day yesterday in the Hawaii soon. It and the AW Ultra are the two brightest, best outdoor displays I have used.

Nice! Ok I think this will be a good upgrade. I just bought the wrong color and had a bag first impression.

Id definitely give it a try. Can always take advantage of the return period again. I certainly get the allure of the Watch 6 classic. Very good looking watch and hard to beat that rotating bezel but I feel the Ultra is the total package.

I just noticed your M for Monday is orange, my one is grey, you can't replicate this in manual options only one of the pre-made ones but then some of the other complications are only white, so you need to fiddle a bit more to see subtle variances the pre-made offer :)

I like the color much more than the Silver White, but I don't know. Still looks really massive on my wrist. Going to wear it today and see if the performance is THAT much better than the 6 Classic.

That's a good point. Plus, the extra battery life will be nice. And I actually only have the Wi-Fi version of the Classic, it might be nice to have a little LTE action.
I can't state how much I love having lte on my watch. So freeing to not have to have my phone with me everywhere.

Its great to just pop to the shops or go for a run and leave the phone at home, and still have the means to be contactable.

After 24 hours with this watch, yeah, I'm keeping it. So much faster than the Classic, and the stock watchface is so good (and not available on the Classic. Might not be quite as good looking, but oh well.
The chip is what I pay attention to when upgrading smartwatches... The redesign or how it looks comes secondary, but performance is the key factor.

When the Watch 7 Pro or Classic is announced, if there is a noticeable improvement in performance... then I'd upgrade my Ultra to it. But Samsung is known to keep the same chip for smartwatches year over year... that's what happened with the Watch Classic (4) to Pro (5) models.

And when it came to the Watch 4 and 6 Classic... from Exynos W920 to W930 was a moderate jump. That's why I didn't bother to upgrade to it. But I thought your plan was to buy the 6 Classic... then upgrade when the new models come out? At least you found a good deal on the Ultra...

Edit… I meant the Watch 8 Pro or Classic is announced*

Yeah, the deal on the Ultra was just too good to pass up, and I actually have grown to really like the look after a day.

And you're for sure right. As good looking as the 6 Classic is, it just lagged too much upon waking up the watch that the Ultra feels like a completely different product.

I have the watch 6 classic and for most things it seems fluid and fast. I don't really do demanding things on like trying to browse the internet. I do agree a faster chip would be nice but the bezel function is really what I like best. I really wish Samsung would ditch the round screen UI and watch faces. It sucks overall in my opinion.

That being said the Ultra is cool but I would have preferred a round case to match the screen personally and no Knock on anyone who owns one. Comparing to the Apple Watch Ultra the design details on the AWU is just so much cooler looking and rugged in my opinion.

At some point when my s24U finally starts aging I may switch back to an iPhone and try an Apple watch. Right now I am poor and going back to school so that option unless I sell some stuff won't be available for a while. I also want to upgrade my M2 MBA in a couple years or so. But as I am in IT field after I graduate the need for Windows and Linux is still very dominant so Apple is more a luxury at this point so I may just keep what I have until it dies or I start making money that I can afford to buy luxuries again.

I do like the Pixel watch UI and it was faster than my watch 6 classic when I had the Pixel watch 2 before I gave it to my son. But Samsung hardware with a sapphire crystal and steel case and bigger screen are just better.

I will wait for the Watch 7 classic or 8 classic or whatever it is called. I am sure Samsung will update the processor significantly in it because as others have said the processor is good enough for now but it is not super fast for sure.

If I could afford to do so and the need was greater for my I might give the Samsung ultra watch a go. Things in your hand are a lot different than on a screen and with no interaction with the UI and newer processor that might be enough for me to say yes. Congrats to those that have it. I am sure it is a great smartwatch.

It always sucks when you want all this tech but the money isn't there. Been there. It would be hard for me to go back to iPhone at this point. I have used some AI features recently while booking my trip and it made it so much easier and it's just something that iPhone can't handle.

Hate to say it because I used to be a huge Apple guy (hence why I'm on this forum) but I really think they got too comfortable and now are way behind on not just AI, but a lot of things that make life easier for users.

Late to the party here; GWU wearer with my S25U and I find it to be a fantastic watch / pairing - very much on oar with Apple iPhone / AWU etc

I prefer the build & styling of the GWU personally. I loved the AWU2, but the round face on the square body works well IMO. It’s functionality is very good too, zero issues with the apps

I generally have a case on it, so don’t really use the touch bezel but when I have, its worked well, albeit its quite sensitive

I was able to get the Watch 7 for $97 from Samsung when I ordered my S25U.

I like it a lot, but I wish they would have given a choice of band size like Apple does for the Apple Watch. The big band size Samsung sends is pretty big on me and I would prefer the small size. I hate having to spend more money on a new band when Samsung should have given me the choice to begin with. New bands at Best Buy are insane around $50. Who they kidding with that. I will just have to shop around for one.
