Torque watch face.

That's pretty killer. I usually just use the stock face for the Galaxy Ultra but I may need to look for this.

How many on here are still using the One Plus Watch 3?

Personally I have this and the Apple Watch Ultra Gen 1, and still end up wearing the One Plus watch far more as a travel watch. The battery life is still excellent, and I love the form factor, look and feel far more than many of the other watches available.

Excellent! Looks awesome! I love the watch. I sold all my Android watches just because I wasn't using them enough but this one was one of my favorites.

When would be a good time to update the watch hardware. I'm still using the Galaxy Watch 7 and it's still very good. I think the only thing I don't like about it is it locks easily and I find I need to unlock it twice a day for the most part. I'm just wondering what are the signs that say maybe one should update the watch.

The only sign I look for is the upgraded processor. If I'm not mistaken, Samsung didn't upgrade their processor on the Galaxy Watch Ultra last year... mainly just added a new color. And I'm not sure if it was the Galaxy Watch 5 or 6, but they did a minor bump to the processor which didn't attribute much to the overall experience.

Not planning on upgrading my Pixel Watch 4 this year... but if Google gives us a huge jump in performance, then I'll definitely consider taking the plunge. Besides checking the time... I mostly rely on using my watch for remote playback control and handling my Home devices. Those things might not seem much... but having those perform (or loading) faster helps.

Trust me... I know the Apple Watch is the best smartwatch on the market, but my preferences are toward an Android phone. And if Apple were to open support for Android platform, then I'll certainly wear one. I've thought about getting an iPhone to keep in the drawer while using an Apple Watch... but decided against that since it involves having multiple lines.
I know this comment is from a while ago, but I hate how Apple forces Watch users to buy an iPhone to even use it. I would also far prefer an Android phone but also have a MacBook Air and iPad. There is zero reason the Watch couldn't be set up or paired with an iPad - the cellular/phone integration is near-irrelevant as most people just use a WiFi model anyway. Sure, it would be a diminished experience to some degree, but so what? That's our choice.

As it is, I have an iPhone 16e which I bought open box for only £330 with a used but immaculate Apple Watch Ultra (1st Gen) which cost £220. I refuse to pay Apple hundreds more so I can have a base 17 with a larger ProMotion screen - I want to but it's such a bitter pill to swallow. I also have a Garmin Epix Gen 2 Sapphire - again, immaculate - that I bought used for £170 and would use this with an Android phone - my wife recently bought a near-flagship Xiaomi 15T with Leica triple cameras and a 120Hz 6.8" screen brand new from Amazon on offer for just £350. Insane value! But the Garmin, although nice and cross-platform, is a great fitness/health watch but pretty mediocre when it comes to smart features.

Having such a basic iPhone just so I can use the absolute best smartwatch on the market seems totally the wrong way round. I would also be tempted to have the iPhone in a drawer just for the AWU but I don't really want two phones and if they would just let us use the damn iPad instead...

watches progress slower than smartphones IMO so when it dies, or there's a new must have feature, that's when. I nearly bought a watch 7, but the gps was suss apparantly so held off

I was going to buy the Galaxy ultra, had it ordered, but found out that most of the health monitoring is locked to using a samsung phone. I cancelled my order. I am going to Gard Pro. Much cheaper and still have all the monitoring. I am using a Fit 3 right now and it's a decent device for 60 bucks.

Android is supposed to be open. Not so anymore with samsung.

Not strictly true. It's just the ECG and Blood Pressure Monitoring (wouldn't rely on this anyway though) exclusive to Samsung phones. However, you can use the ECG via a third party app (BP monitoring on the way) from the dev who originally created the XDA hack to achieve this prior to the latest WearOS. All the other health metrics can be synced with Samsung Health, Google Fit, Strava etc. You can also use Gemini natively.
