I'm just updating my tiles now and do wish more support and able to group more together
But then again… I’m not sure what apps I want added. Maybe Authy… Hue? But I have the option to use Google Home or SmartThings.

Only thing I can think of is maybe something to do with sports or some RSS apps.

I'd like to just bunch my Google apps together along with music apps

I tell you OnePlus is just killing it, I'm about 27 hours off the charger I think maybe a little bit more and my battery is at 80%, I don't use it to sleep track as all my watches I take off before going to bed. Watch has been excellent so far with notifications no drain on the OnePlus 13. Early results are excellent
I just received my OnePlus watch 3 yesterday and initial impressions are it's a decent bit of kit!

A little more work required setting up but got there in the end.

Took it off the charge at 100% last night around 11pm and nearly 12 hours later it's at 94% and thats with sleep tracking. Outstanding job

Awesome happy you got it and I think it will serve you well.

I'm hoping the gps is up to scratch, going to take it for a run later and see. If it does as well as my Garmin it'll replace it as my do it all device !
I will be curious to see how it does as I usually just use it for indoor workouts.

So, it passed the running test. It was only 90 metres different from my Garmin over a 10 mile trail run. The optical heart rate monitor did OK too!

On a side note that's 27 hours off the charger and the watch is at 75% battery. That's with a 90 minute GPS activity. Not bad for a wear os watch.

Thats not too shabby at alll and should get you a good amount of days before the next charge.

The Oneplus watch 3 whist a great smart watch is not such a good training watch.

Had it on for a steady state run the other day and it worked well enough but it failed miserably with my hill sprints this morning. It didn't pick up hardly any of the spikes in heart rate I should have seen and when it did it then showed an elevated heart rate even when I had rested for a short period.

I do have a tattooed wrist which for some watches can be challenging to read through, but others have managed,

With no way to natively connect a chest strap without subscribing to an app it's a major reason why I have never considered a Wear Os watch as a running focused solution, I just thought I'd give this one a try and see if things had moved on. The Pixel watch 3 I have nails the heart rate but fails with poor gps accuracy.

So it seems I'll stick with my Garmin for training.

Thank you for sharing your observations I'm sure this will be very helpful for others.

A little purchase hack for anyone in the US planning on purchasing a Pixel Watch 4. Right now, Google is giving $350 trade-in credit for any Apple Watch series 10. AW10 can be purchased on Amazon for as low as $299 (and even less via Swappa or eBay) so that’s an easy extra $50 off (or more). I’ll bet the trade in value will drop once Apple releases whatever new watches are coming next month (for comparison, Apple Watch 9 trade-in value is $125, Apple Watch Ultra 2 only $175) making the series 10 the old generation so I’d at least get your preorder in now to lock in the trade-in price.

Will the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic work well with the new Pixel 10 Pro XL? Considering switching from the S25 Ultra.
I would imagine so, although some of the health features (ECG if I recall correctly is one) may not work/need some workaround.

Received August Security Patch (at the end of the month) for Watch Ultra!

Recently bought the Pixel Watch 4 to decide if that will be my smartwatch of choice going forward. Long story short… choosing design over function. Ultimately, I’m wearing a piece of tech and I want to actually enjoy looking at it… but if you care to read read the longer version.. please proceed.

The Pixel Watch 4 has an astute look to it, not flashy or anything… very sleek. I think it draws inspiration from Apple and glad Google took that approach. They applied a different method when it comes to charging… not on the back of it like most smartwatches but on the side, magnets are strong and it stands up to see the charging status.

Attaching the band was kind of awkward to begin with.. took maybe a minute to determine how to do it, but once you get the hang of it. It’s a breeze afterwards… enthusiastic about buying bands to build up my collection, going to enjoy it. Now that the hardware is out the way… let’s discuss stock wearOS, which blends in well with the hardware.

One thing that really delights this whole Pixel UI experience is alert notifications… they come through in a nice animation, appears well planned out. Which getting alerts is one of the most essential piece of having a smart watch (imo), really like that part of it. Not many reviewers discuss the alerts that come through… guessing it’s parts of the whole Google Expressive UI design.

And then the icing on the cake comes with the notifications… like how that’s done as well, looks polished. Like the fact we can apply a theme in settings page.. which comes as a surprise. But with all that said…. Here comes all the things that needs to improve especially when it comes to comparing it to the Galaxy Watch.

First and foremost, we need a Now Bar.. or some playing tile that can be used for audio playback. For now… we only get a symbol on the watch face and something must be playing. So, we are screwed if the audio is paused… that needs to be addressed. I use the Now Bar often on my Galaxy Watch outside doing yard work or any extraneous activities.

Next we have no customization tiles and quick settings… not necessarily a huge omission, but needs to be added nevertheless. Seems odd that it’s not available on Pixel UI since they went out their way to theme settings. And one minor issue when it comes to pairing a Pixel Watch to a Galaxy phone.. lack of a stock remote shutter, but that can be remedied by a 3rd party one.

No option for a photo watch face since I don't use Google Photos... not a deal breaker, but something to point out. And kind of worried about the whole 3rd party accessory market. Only one company has a charging dock, which is disappointing... because I want something that sits higher up. Likely have to come up with something myself.

Thank you for sharing and I think a few of the reasons why though I enjoy Google, I'm happier when I'm at Samsung. Customization wise those little things make a difference like it would really annoy me not to have a music player easily available on my watch.

Agree, completely! Staying with Samsung is definitely the better choice, but when it’s all said and done I prefer how the Pixel Watch looks.

Did Samsung change thier mind and decided to give us a watch update anyway. I'm downloading Watch UI 8 now. I thought they said they were going to skip a year.

It's official... sold the Galaxy Watch Ultra, I'm a Pixel Watch user. Forgot to add... Google didn't add a calculator app to the Pixel Watch (guessing they are hoping users rely on Gemini). I was able to side load the Samsung calculator app.. I find that better than the 3rd party ones on the Play Store.

I'll probably revisit Galaxy Watches come next year... because Samsung didn't really do much with the Ultra series just add a new color.

What did you want them to do with the ultra? Just curious.

I'm not a fan of the design... has 3 layers to it (bezels, middle and back), with all different shades of color. It's as if they pieced it together... Prefer the body to be unified. And Samsung made the whole body squircle... why not go ahead and make the watch display too.

And I was against the squircle body and circle display from the jump... but what's appealing about the Galaxy Watch Ultra is the bigger battery and display users get. Even like the extra buttons we are able to configure. But the reason I went with the Pixel watch was due to the design and Galaxy Watch fails for me in that category.
