Exactly what kind of pay did you think you were worth? What kind of harassment? What do you define as "reasonable hours"? Usually when I see posts like this it turns out to be people who want to make 50k on a 20 hour work week in retail.
So what's wrong with that? As the "face of Apple" and an "executive" solving computer issues for customers and consulting to "provide the complete solution" it would seem reasonable to pay at least $25/hr. After all I can make $20/hr. hauling junk. Based upon what we did I think we were worth more. I make $60/hr. doing the same thing on a private client basis. OMG I just realized that's $62,500 for a 20 hr week. A bit closer to some "executives" but nowhere near her range.

How is that any more unreasonable than a 40-ish hour executive workweek with an expense account, stock options, and hundreds of millions in compensation? The elite will never share, and it doesn't have anything to do with their supposed "talent" at running a company.

Well ok.. but we must remember - Ahrendts is the 'executive' who was paid millions to change the shopping 'cart' to a 'bag' how stylish.

the younger version of Hilary Clinton

I wonder if Angela will be giving any speeches about income inequality like Lady Macbeth did?

So, let's recap.

The piece is titled, "What it takes to make change inside a successful business."

What Ahrendts actually says is. "An amazing culture was already built."

There is no description of any change. I'm not seeing her contribution here.

Oh, but she's opened some shops in China. Maybe half a dozen. Gosh.

Yup, she's definitely worth every cent of the one hundred million dollars Apple has thrown at her.
I think part of the reason they hired her is because Tim and Jony needed her input on how to sell the Watch since Apple doesn't know anything about fashion.

I wrote my business degree thesis testing the few "Experiential Marketing" models on selling customer experiences.
The insight in it's summary was the key differentiator between success and failure was your customer facing employees.
If your employees aren't buying into the experience or believing in it or it has no personal relevance to them you're business will fail.
That probably sounds obvious but it's so fundamental and crucial yet it's often ignored and not nurtured by management.
She knows what's she's doing.

A.A. hasn't added anything that improved my customer experience.
I have positive memories from the early days of the Apple retail stores, when you could walk-in and the Genius would have time for your problem and would solve the issue. These days I avoid the physical stores. Too crowded, too many corporate rehearsed lines like Walmart greeters and I often walk out with a frustrating feeling. The last 4 years have changed my view of Apple completely and I'm a veteran user (started in 1985!).

Any guess which stage they're in ?

This sounds like the standard ploy for management to give workers fancy sounding titles instead of paying them decently.
The Apple distortion field working in industrial relations looks horrible.

Don't forget Angela, these are the same minions who you said what they were born to do is sale watches.

For some reason, I just don't think you view them anything at all like you do executives.

I also loved when she said that Dubai and the Emirates were amongst the freer and most tolerant nations in the world.
I guess you get a free "get out of jail in case you're gay" card when you shop at those stores.

So these Apple Store 'executives' can expect to see a pay rise of about $1m each, across the board then? Nice Apple! Nice!

This almost makes me angry because there is so clearly a complete disconnect between the Apple Store employees and the actual executives, such as Angela, at the top of the company. This is all just PR fantasy, said to make her look great. Apple Store employees are no where near treated at the level she must be, paid thousands of times less than the execs and don't have personal butlers (which I'm imagining is what Angela has). It's delusion at best.

It's not - it's a stock savings plan where the company matches your contribution up to a certain amount.
Original comment said ability to buy stock at a lower than market price. Is there's a set strike price that the stock could be purchased for after the fact that would be an option. Anyway, maybe I didn't read the original well.

Edit: the reason I said anything though was because it seemed like having to purchase the stock was what made the poster think it wasn't an option. Options aren't stock grants. They are still purchased by the person exercising the option.

Good infograph.

Maybe they should get stock options like the 'real' executives?
They do now, vested after a year, two years, and three years. Not such a big bonus now that AAPL is losing value.

I have to say that Angela has underwhelmed me so far. Of course, I have no idea what she does, which I think is part of the problem for many.

Well, she's changed the t-shirts from those nice blue ones with the Apple in the centre to terrible drab grey with a tiny apple top left. "Because we're humble." (no joke)
And she does a weekly pep talk about how well Apple is doing, what a *fantastic* job you guys are doing and no we're not going to pay you a living wage. duh. In the UK, Apple retail staff get paid less than supermarket checkout operators.

Haven't been in an Apple store lately, but the last time I was, they had done away with name badges now making the employees, to me, someone faceless. That, I believe, takes away the personal side of Apple retail.
Maybe the general public just doesn't care, but I find the experience to be no longer a reason to visit retail.
Being an Apple consumer since 1984, I believe I can figure out what I need and how I want it to interface with my current devices or changes I may want to make. I know the general public will, more than likely, really never approach these forums as the more ingrained users do.
With that said, once again, Apple is moving toward a mass consumer mentality that, for many reasons, leave us long time users longing for true innovation (yeah, I've heard that argument) and based on past performance, stable hardware and operating systems. Sometimes, I think they just try to move too fast without regards to the inevitable consequences.
When do we see the iToaster and iMicrowave? /s
And, no,IMHO, I don't think Angela has done squat for retail.

Oh, the memories. My eyes rolled so much when she said that that I had to vacuum them out and reset their position.
Plus the "you were born to sell watches" and "Dubai and the Emirates are some of the most diverse and tolerant countries in the Middle East and even in the world".
I think the more she's paid, the more stupid is what comes out of her mouth. For me, the bottom line to leaving Apple Retail was creating my store over half a million in revenue in one year working only 4 evenings/week (when the store is dead quiet) and all I got was a pat in the back and a £1/h salary increase. They try to wrap it with all the "amazing benefits" you get, the RSU's this and that, but the fact is that none of that is actually going IN my bank account.
