Actually you are wrong..

Things BBM can do that SMS can't:

1) Read and Delivery stamps
2) Encrypted Communication
3) Group Communication (Shared Calendars, Shared Pictures, Shared To-Do Lists)
4) Status Updates
5) Free Global Messaging
6) Free Global Picture, Video and Voice Messaging
7) Emoticons Support
8) Way faster than SMS
9) Unlimited Character Input
10) Multiperson Chat (Different than Groups)

Those are 10 off the top of my head that are leaps and bounds ahead of SMS. There is no way you can even come close to comparing SMS to BBM.

Things SMS can do that BBM can't:

1)Message 95% of my friends.

Angry Birds on iPhone:

Mods: If you're going to change this back to TIMG, then just delete the whole damn post instead. With the image smaller than full size, the entire point of the post (that angry birds looks like poop on iPhone 4) is lost. The image isn't even that big. Do you know anyone with a monitor narrower than 960 pixels? Didn't think so.

The best thing about bbm is that you can msg people all over the world for FREE. You don't have to pay ridiculous international messaging fees.

What if 99% of people dont have BBM, then how does that help me? OWNED

+1.

Except for me it's more like 99% of my friends. Blackberry had its turn wit the younger crowd now I rarely see a younger person with a blackberry. All I see are iPhones. Blackberry's are going to continuously fade out to the younger crowd because it's not a portable gaming system or a good iPod. Seriously RIM, when are you going to see that brickbreaker is getting old. Blackberry is more for the business type older crowd. I see everyone talk about BBM as being the greatest thing since sliced bread. I really don't understand it. My unlimited text messaging plan does just fun texting anyone and everyone I want.

My cousin just started his new job and was given a BB. He looks disgusted trying to use the thing considering he is an avid iPhone user.

Angry Birds needs a serious retina display update. They had like 3 updates since the launch of the iPhone 4 and no graphics update. Lazy developers.

they are lazy because they choose to focus their efforts on getting angry birds out on Android and WebOS rather than spend time to update the graphic?

Personally I rather them add in more levels and add other OS than update the graphics.

Now from the money side yet again they choose the better choice as updating graphic will not get them very many more sales but adding more levels and other OS will get them a lot of sales.

Have you even tried using BBM? It's a million times better than texting.

lol have you tried messaging your friends who have other phones from BBM? oh wait, you can't. who needs BBM when you can use beejive or ebuddy to message all of your friends whether they're on an iphone, blackberry, android, mac, pc, linux.... :p

Uh, that's great.. and besides routing shared calenders through Gmail/CalDAV, what exactly are you getting that MSN doesn't get you?

I'm not restricted to BBs or even cell phones to do MSN with people i know.

Tell my 99.9% of people to go setup CalDAV on GMAIL or install MSN on their phone and they will not do it.

I can BBM with my parents and they have no clue with MSN even is. BBM is shipped on every blackberry and setup ready to work which IMO is really why it's so successful. I would say a majority of people with BlackBerry's don't even install additional apps they just use what's natively on the phone because they use the phone to get things done instead of play with fart apps all day.

Don't get me wrong.. I love my iPhone for what the iPhone does well.. (Surfing, games, travel apps etc), but, I use my Blackberry as my work device and as my main messaging platform (BBM,SMS,Email,Twitter etc).

If my friend doesn't have BBM I simply use SMS. (yes, Blackberry does support SMS).

why are we talking about CrapBerry's on a mac forum?! gtfo if you like blackberrys... IPHONE 4 FTW :apple:

Wow, a lot of you guys have no sense of humor

What irritates me the most is that some people believe "iPhone or NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY BE BETTER AT ANYTHING!"

It's hard for some people to realize not everything has to be compared to or used for the same function as an iPhone.

I love my iPhone and my BlackBerry because I simply think they accomplish different tasks better..

Again, Blackberry does support SMS incase you thought it was iPhone's proprietary messaging platform.

You just proved my point, SMS can message 100% of my friends, while BBM can message 5%. MyFaceSpace (Made up) may be a better Social Network, but if 99% of my friends are on Facebook, it makes anything else worthless, it's only better if you can use it. And FYI, I have a Blackberry, iPhone and Android phone, which all support SMS, get off your high horse.

It's hard to see the value of BBM until it's reached critical mass in your social circle. I have 58 people on my BBM list. I can only think of 4 people I text regularly who don't have a BlackBerry. When everyone you know uses BBM, it is unbeatable.

I switched from a blackberry to the Iphone 4.

I was a little hesitant in the beginning. But I'm happy that I don't have stalkers anymore saying, "i know you read my message, i can see the 'R' ". And I don't get stupid status updates. It turned into facebook.
It's the latest craze with the kids. PIN numbers. It's like nextel for 21 yr olds.

I used to have a Blackberry, mainly because it was my only option. It's definitely not a gaming phone, AT ALL, but it does what it's suppose to, kinda well. It obviously doesn't compare to the iPhone, but chances are, if you have a Blackberry, you use it for business, not fun and games. BBM was probably the best application on that phone lol

This is a big boy phone.

Then why do they all have little tiny keyboards that a baby's fingers would struggle to fit on?

Blackberry may be the big boy's phone (big boy with extra unusually and abnormally small fingers), and the iPhone can be for adults.

With all sympathy and seriousness, I have to say I am sorry for you.

I know it depends on where you're from and how old you are but I only know 1 person over the age of 20 with an iPhone. Everyone else I know and want to message ha a blackberry.

I have 30 people on my BBM list. And in all seriousness I would switch to an iPhone for the media options but I would be so annoyed with losing BBM and also the ease of use for push email.

As someone said earlier.....YMMV. For me the perfect world is my BB and my iPod Touch.

I also have the iPad and my MBP too! :D

Btw, I'm 33yrs old and that may be why I don't see many people at all with an iPhone.
