He destroying them and my country still waiting for the iPhone 7 release date
It seems as though the release date wont help unless you want a Rose Gold iPhone 7, at least here in Australia. I have 5-6 more weeks to wait and I pre-ordered :(

And as for the video - I hope he has to pay full price for each and every item that he damaged

People only do this because they have no fear of anybody interfearing. Everyone is afraid to get involved but quick to pull out the camera. I know everyone is not an MMA fighter but any two guys watching that could have stopped him and held him for the cops.

Did you really think you were the first one to post this thread?

Really getting annoyed seeing the same thing over and over again.

50,000, actually

"Il sera jugé en comparution immédiate mardi 4 octobre. Il doit être présenté vendredi au parquet, qui réclamera son placement en détention provisoire en attendant sa comparution devant le tribunal, a indiqué la procureure de Dijon, Marie-Christine Tarrare, qui estime le préjudice à 50.000 euros."

12 iphones, 4 imacs and a macbook

€50k sounds a lot for what he damaged. About twice the amount I would estimate. I assume the damages include a punitive element.

Nope. In today's politically correct environment you are not allowed to touch the guy until he's about to harm someone else. If crazy people can make a scene in an airplane at 30,000 ft and forces the plane to divert, causing big loss$$ to the airline and inconvenience to passengers don't get jail time, what is a few iPhone worth? They should at least be forced to do 1 year community service but nope, everybody is spoiled.

It's really taking a lot of time with this launch. they usually release the new iPhones here later October but not announcement yet :(

Still no announcement? Darn thats bad. I wonder if the delays that most other countries are experiencing are the reasons they are delaying releases in the next round of countries? 6-8 weeks delay at the moment for the first round of release countries, so you could imagine the issues if they started releasing them elsewhere - they would not get them until the new year!

Were any iMacs damaged in the video? It looks as though some of them have large black spots, but I'm not sure. The furniture is also pretty expensive.

4 iMacs - say €2500 each
12 iPhones - say €1000 each
1 MacBook - say €1500

Still nowhere near €50k. Perhaps there was also damage to some of the tables. Even so, seems that €50k is excessive for compensation.

Perhaps more details will filter out at a later date, as a consequence of the legal process. The video-recording may omit certain acts.

He is scheduled to appear on October 4.

Senseless, he has only served to put himself on the wrong side of the law, and incur significant cost. EU has plenty of mechanisms to deal with customer protection/dissatisfaction, being as ass not being one of them. As unhappy he currently is with Apple`s service it`s going to burn that much more now he has to pay for the damages, if not more...

Yeah this story just doesn't cut mustard seeing some "delicate" guy in Dijon doing his Poupon Apple.

Then again never quite understood a language where people answer you back with oui oui and peu peu.

To me glove and the ball tells me that he came to the store prepared!

There is a big chance that this guy is a boule player. The sport is rather big in France and Belgium. He might have played that day and had the steel ball and glove in his backpack. When he did not get what he wanted the went postal and grabbed the steel ball as he already had it on him!

The whole incident is strangely "artsy", especially when you set it to "Blue Danube" by Strauss:
