Onizuka said:<snip>I guess what hit me hardest was that I relate so much to Spike. Betrayed, removed, and always hunted. It's funny, but it was almost as if I saw a part of me die. Ah, but that again is what makes a series so great... Being able to relate to the characters, eh?
That is what makes a series so incredibly great. I felt the exact same way when watching Bebop, especially the first time. It was crazy because I would watch it with a group of people on 'anime night'. We would watch a few episodes each night, once a week just to change-up the tele norm. As we watched I always wondered if anyone else was feeling what I was feeling, because at times it really felt like I was Spike, I related to everything he said and did! It was amazing.
Part of those same feelings is why I loved Love Hina so much as well. I related to Keitaro quite well and thus the series made a notable impact for me.
