I love Anker, but $60 is a lot to shell out on a cable (even if they have lifetime warranty).

Generally Anker outprices (is more affordable than) other brands like Belkin. If you ever see otherwise, it’s not actually Anker’s pricing. In this case, it’s clearly indicated as being sold by a 3rd party and not Anker. The 3rd party set that price, not Anker. I’m pretty sure Anker’s new cables will be $20 USD or less.

Oddly enough Anker sells a 10 ft one on aliexpress for $14.00.

Oh, I have 4 of them in my house. I just can’t believe they aren’t making a 10’ usb-c to lightning.

I think the only company that’s announced so far that’s making a 10’ usb-c to lightning is Belkin. Even Griffin is only going 6’.

They make one and sell it on aliexpress. USB C to Lightening 10 ft (actually 3 meters) for $14.00. Not sure why they aren't selling it elsewhere.

Something isn’t right about that. First, Apple *just* licensed it. Second, Anker doesn’t officially have one yet. Either the listing isn’t correct, or someone slapped an adapter on it, which degrades quality and speed. The whole thing looks sketchy as hell.

It is aliexpress so anything is possible. The listing was for the "official" Anker store so who knows? They make no claims to be licensed for that cable, although they claim it for their USB A one. It could be that Anker simply decided to make them but not release the longer ones officially in the US?

I guess people are counterfeiting Anker cables now? Anker doesn't sell a USB-C to lightning cable at all yet.

Possibly, or they could simply be selling them in China before they sell them elsewhere. Since Anker is a Chinese company I would think there is less likelihood that someone is just using their name, even if they are copying their designs. There is no way to be sure what is true.

I sent an email to Anker and will post response if I get one.

I can't imagine that Anker would risk losing their "Made for iPhone" certifications by selling unlicensed cables like that in China.

Yeah, there is no way the listing is legit. Plus, I personally stay away from sites like that. Easy for counterfeit. Last thing I want counterfeit is something electrical in the house where my daughter and I sleep.

There were actual "Apple" (not-Apple) retail storefronts in China, with all sorts of Apple logos and such, long before Apple had any real stores there. Seriously, counterfeit stores.

That's just a listing for USB-A to Lightning, MicroUSB, or USB-C.

They still aren't. It's simply a listing for USB-A to Lightning, MicroUSB, or USB-C, not USB-C to Lightning.

My bad. I stand corrected.

I contacted Anker and that is their offical aliexpress store and products are genuine.

I was wrong, however bout it being USB-C to Lightning; thats what I get for not carefully reading the description.

Good to know. To your credit, that ad is written very poorly.
