Anyway, congratulations to the "poor" souls who have to read my reports when I'm on a reporting spree, though I still wonder, why all but one of the new moderators are residing in the continental USA, as there is still some lack of African/European moderators, in regards to the time zone, not ethnicity.

I guess there is more moderation needed when we Europeans are sleeping. Forums are kinda dead when Americans are sleeping if your posts are excluded :D That's why I have nothing else to do but comment to this thread.

Sushi is a beast and can handle it... :p

I think during the USA night time hours things tend to be slower... the site is (to an extent) a US site and sees more traffic during the USA day time hours. I would guess we have a larger US base of users and that somewhat gives us a larger proportion of US based mods. I know we have many members outside the US also and some of our best members live outside the US.

We also don't force people to become moderators so sometimes people decline the invitation. Maybe people outside the US have better things to do! :D
Thanks. Is there some kind of statistic on where the members come from, maybe some kind of pie chart? Doctor Q should have one in his tower attic, shouldn't he?

Hmm, what about the Atlantians? Or the ones living in Europe (small country I guess...) and having different sleep patterns and even that thing one can dance to? I sometimes am awake during the hours the Canadians or Chileans watch their favourite episode of Found.

Because the Internet is American? Duh?
But what about the Americans sent abroad, in order to prepare the world for freedom?

BEEP BEEP BEEP. Warning: Somehow this thread is gonna get PRSI on us. Please don't. :D
We have new moderators for that. Now you can "chillax" and see what the threads are all about. Btw, does the VBB software allow to split threads somehow?
And what does happen to deleted posts, especially mine???????

Now for something completely different.

Not sure... it wouldn't be hard to figure out though. I think it's known where most of the mods live in public threads or via their location. At a guess, I'd say 80% are in the US.

Oh I have been... I haven't done much moderating since they've started, mostly so they can learn the ropes (okay mostly because I'm lazy). I also have some other stuff I'm working on so slightly less time for MR anyway. I really didn't think the people above were intending to go the PRSI route but a few other people come in and gets into an all out politics war based on those innocent ones above... it sucks but that's the internet for ya.

We can split threads but we have to choose the posts to move to a new thread. So if the thread is a shuffled deck of cards of two topics, it's a pain to split.

Your deleted posts are printed on arns dot matrix printer for review.

80% members from the USA? Hmm, but there is an SOA club in Eire....

I understand. And good for you taking some time off. Must be only half the work right now (or less).

I thought so, the part about selecting the posts. Must be a pain in the asymmetric photons for the servers too I assume, as new postnumbers have to be created and the old ones purged.

Good to know they are valued in some way or another. And stored of course. Once I run for world leadership I know where to find them.

You and your panda avatars, maybe you do know this already, but it is worth a try: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-ZBcmcje_s
Others I can't currently access, as the site is down.

C'mon! Be honest! You've just been too busy tearing up that office, as illustrated in your avatar! (Didn't know they caught you on security cam, didja?) :D

Oh I'm still doing stuff... just mostly behind the scenes... also making sure that the new mods don't escape from their leashes. Since there are no set hours I'm always on the clock! I guess not being at MacRumors means I'm goofing off.... :p

We generally look for candidates who are 18 or older because they're more likely to have had more online experience, more life experience, and be more settled/mature in general. But we all know that these characteristics arrive at different ages for different people. And for some people, never!
Ok. Thanks.
