Same here, 50mm width where i intend to wear the watch. 150mm circumference. You are making some good points here. I'm also concerned that the 42mm watch will look weird because it has to bend immediately from the starting point of the band.

What I'm also worried about is the flesh-touching size for good measuring results of the sensors.

Seems like your mind is pretty much made up. :)

I also have a 155mm wrist. I have pre-ordered a 38mm (May 13-27) and a 42mm (June).

In pictures, the 42mm always looks too big on our size wrist, but ultimately the decision is yours.

I have tried them on 3 times and I'm still not sure, but most people in the Apple Store started with: 42mm all the way until I tried both on. No one recommended a 42mm after seeing it on my wrist.

It it was anything like mine, the 42mm with large band was tightened as far as it would go.

Ideally, I would have like to see the 42mm with the smaller band. But that was not available for try on.

Yip, same problem :)!

Haha, you sound a lot like me! I too have 2 pre-orders with the exact same dates :)! The hard part is to make a final decision.

What makes it even harder is I was able to apply a $45 off coupon to the 42mm order making it only $5 more expensive than the 38mm. I want the bigger display, but I don't want to look stupid.

I agree. For some reason many Apple customers are so busy admiring whatever they are about to buy they overlook the fact that it's to be used. Even a 42 size is going to seem quite small when actually using it.

Think about it, do you ever scrutinize other people's watch for size? I sure don't.

I agree. And although it is a matter of taste - I think all but the skinniest wrists look ok in the 42.

Hey guys

Ive been to a German Apple Store yesterday and took some pictures of my arm and the apple Watch.

The white one and the SS link are the 38 versions.
The space grey sport is the 42.

Wrist size: 155mm

What is, in your opinion, the right choise for me?
38 or 42mm?

Thanks for any advice!

I was in your same predicament. I have 155mm wrist (width of 55mm). I preordered both in case. Went in to the store to try them on, and I, my wife, and the Apple Store employee all agreed that both fit, but the 42mm definitely looked more masculine and better suited for my wrist. As long as you can handle the 42mm, I'd go for that. Bigger screen and better battery.

Doesn't look to big on you, and the pictures are deceiving. Looking at the pictures I took the 42mm definitely looks smaller on my wrist in real life than in the pictures.

Anyone guess what size Anna Wintour is wearing? I actually think the rose gold with white sport band looks good on her and she's a tiny person.

I'd say 38mm. The band seems to drape over her wrist nicely and I don't 42mm would do the same.

It also looks like she's wearing it tight enough. I cringe when I see some of the try-on photos with loose fitting sport bands.

Oh I know! I did not have that experience at my try on. The Apple rep who helped me made sure they were nice and snug- sometimes too much lol.

I have same size wrists and bought the 42 sight unseen. Finally tried it on at the store and glad i ordered the 42.

The key is not how the size of the watch face looks on the wrist, but how the strap wraps around your wrist. Take one of the large casios and the strap bulges out and over on small wrists and that would look fugly. The sport band wraps nicely around the wrist as your pics show. Get what you want and like.
