I'm starting to get the gist of this commercial. To really show off GPS it's going to go all around the world from above zooming in on each location. From iPhone to iPhone.

...

And you conclude this from the fact Apple has filmed 3 different commercials in 3 different areas? While it's possible... I really don't think we have anywhere near enough information to conclude that it's going to be that. Heck, the 3 commercials don't even have to be related.

Unless you're an Apple employee and would like to confess something ;)

Not an Apple iPhone ad

BBDO isn't the ad agency for Apple, so I doubt very much if they'd be doing an iPhone ad. All that is handled by TBWA/Chiat/Day in LA, and it's a top secret group within the agency that does Apple. Even other people in the agency don't know what they're up to.

BBDO has the AT&T account. The ads, if actually being done by BBDO, are for AT&T.

Apple is filming commercials to take a direct hit at the RIMM Blackberry line and targeting corporate America. One of the biggest knocks on the first iPhone was that it was impractical for business users, therefore the Blackberry and others owned that market. Apple is making a direct attack on that market with the iPhone 2, while maintaining its appeal to the consumer market. Apple wants their target audience to be limited only to EVERYBODY on the planet (at least those willing to shell out $500 for a phone). ;)

If they are indeed shooting these commercials in Hawaii, LA and NY

One would guess it would be to demo the Video Chat function of the phone.

Has :apple: ever shot a commercial in Hawaii before?
