Another girl advice thread... this is a fun one though.

I'm going to modify some details slightly, for confidentiality.

So, earlier today (Friday afternoon), one of my family members was driving my brother to the airport since he's going to a summer program a few thousand miles away, and I came along for the ride part way, to be dropped off in a town near our house, since I had an errand to run there. I did my errand, and then walked around the town for a little while, waiting for the family member to return from the airport and drive us both home. How about we call this family member my aunt. That works.

Anyways, so my aunt returns from driving my brother to the airport, and she pulls up in front of the store where we agreed to meet, and there is a gorgeous young woman sitting in the front passenger seat. I come over, and I get in the back seat. Apparently, she's an exchange student from a far away country, doesn't speak english very well, and was just walking along the road when my aunt asked her where she was going and offered her a ride.

We drove her to her destination, about a 25 minute walk (3 minute drive) past where me and my aunt live. She'll be staying there for the entire summer. I don't know her last name, phone number, email, or anything, but I'm a 25 minute walk from her.

It's very unlike me to just walk over there and knock on the door and ask if she'd like to hang out, but I actually think I might do it. Especially if there's a possibility for a summer fling.

Strangely enough, while walking around town, before my aunt returned from the airport, there was a paper on a bulletin board that I noticed, that said "Take at least one," and at the bottom of the paper were a bunch of tabs that you could tear off, like are normally used for distributing a phone number, and each tab said "A chance" on it. So I took one, and I have it sitting here on my desk. I feel there is a connection between this paper and the way I met this gorgeous foreign girl unexpectedly.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions, insights, advice?

If your just looking for someone to hang out with and learn some culture, go for it! But I am very old fashion for my age and don't like the idea of a fling.

But I am not one to give advice on women (Gay, so enough said). I test drove a women for a while to learn that they can be crazy. So I feel there's no need to toy with her just for a fling, more so, if neither of fully speak a language in common.
 
Thanks for your input. I guess I should clarify more, I Am interested in her romantically. That would be the main drive behind working up the courage to walk over there.
 
I mean, a few strips of paper stapled to a bulletin board is better than paying a psychic $40 for a session, right?
 
Ideally you should have asked for her number before dropping her off.. appearing at her front door might be awkward, but who knows, she might be looking for somebody there since she knows nobody.

Ugh, that's what I was worried about. The awkwardness. I really want to do this though, and I have no other way. I could possibly hope to bump into her in town on the 4th of july, but that's a little ways off. It would be better to see her when the ride is still fresh, don't you think?

Any advice on how to approach simply walking up to her housing place and knocking on the door?
 
Love how you had to call your relative "your aunt" on a forum that nobody knows you on....Anyway. I'm 41. Take my advice. If you don't at least try, you will think about this girl for the REST OF YOUR LIFE. Literally. You will always wonder what if? So go for it.hats the worst that can happen? Some chick you will never see again turns you down. Go for it. And tell us what happens. Even if you have to make that part up, tells us EVERYTHING....
 
Just go over there and stop taking life so seriously (especially at your age (assumption on my part)). The absolute WORST that could happen would be a complete non event later in your life but the best that could happen would be something you'll remember the rest of your life. The risk/reward here is insanely in your favor. Just do it.

Yes, I know her first name. Let's call her Jessica. :)

The reason I didn't ask for her phone number is because it would have been embarrassing to do so in front of my aunt.

And the building doesn't really have an address. It's a building that I never knew existed until yesterday, in the woods at the end of a gravel road, where apparently they house people who work at a touristy resort nearby. I'm familiar with the resort, I just never knew there was this building.

Anyways, I think I'm going to do it. Maybe tomorrow. If I do it, it's going to be by far the most boisterous thing I've ever done in my life, in this arena at least. It's just so unlike me. I just have to pretend I'm somebody else, or that I'm watching a movie, while walking up that gravel road. And what if she's worse with english than I think, and she can't even have a conversation...? :eek:

Dude, think!!! What would someone do in your situation if this was a movie? They get there, and the girl knows who he is but, uh-oh, she can't communicate that well. THATS YOUR IN!!! You offer to hang out with her and help her with her English. Then you set up a web cam in your room, have her change her clothes there and share the video with all your macrumors buddies!

Haha. Right.

I'm so nervous. This is so ridiculously outside of my comfort zone. I think that's why I posted about it here. To get some support. Because I really want to do this.

The other advice thread said something about rolling up a sock, to pave your way.

I would suggest doing an Military tuck on a pair, and putting them in your pants.

Just go for it man,Like one of the post above said..You'll be thinking about this for awhile and be thinking what if,Just go there and ask her if she wanted to hang out for a bit and maybe you could show her the area so she knows what's around and stuff. If you don't mind me asking do you have an idea what language she speaks?
 
Yes, I know what language she speaks. That was one of the details I kept hidden for confidentiality, haha. As it is, if she happens to stumble upon this forum, I think she will have a strong suspicion that it's about her. :D
