If Apple was going to send a much-much-hyped product to someone in advance, and try to keep it secret, would they really put a big message on the outside of the box saying "DO NOT OPEN THIS BOX UNDER PENALTY OF NDA". I would think there would be a box inside a box. The outside box would be very plain, and the box inside would say, "OK, now don't open THIS box".

Having that big thing on the outside just seems to say "Hey, there's something really important in here" to people who would be carrying the package. If some unscrupulous driver got his hand on it, it could be gone. Like mailing an envelope saying "This is cash". The last time I mailed a check to someone, it never arrived. Hmmm...

It probably WAS inside another box that held the letter & inner brown box.
