Alright, Don't get me wrong, because I love my MacBook, and wouldn't trade it for anything, but I'm having some serious issues with them. Last year in December, I got my 4th replacement MacBook. Now, that replacement has failed (like everything went out... Bluetooth, Airport, Keyboard, Trackpad, etc.). That's unbelievable, huh? I had no issues with the computer up until about August of this past year (random chips, cracks, etc.), and now it turned to this...

I love Apple stuff, but the quality control is lacking here, and I want Apple to make up for these problems. I've spent countless hours (mainly on the first two...) on the phone and at the Saddle Creek store. The store hates me now, because I've had so many problems with their stuff. They apparently think I'm out to scam Apple... Anyways, It isn't right that I've had numerous iPods, iPhones, and MacBook computers replaced. Granted, they have been replaced for free, but talk about inconvenience!

Here's the main point of this post:

I'm going to push Apple to replace my MacBook (bought for $1900 in late 2006) with a new unibody MacBook Pro. Is that bad? I mean, I have had close to 20 Apple product replacements between all of my products. :(

Apple makes amazing products, but they're not doing something right with their products... :apple:

If you read that, thanks!
Rob

Apple replaced my late 2007 MB with this new unibody MB, i think if i had insisted that i needed the firewire i could have gotten the Unibody MBP as the replacement, but i like the MB's form factor.......

But if you handle it correctly you could get the MB replaced with a new MPP.....

Good. They offered me a new white one and they gave me the option of a unibody MB. I think I could swing it :)

I would imagine so... I have no idea though, as the CR Rep never said which one... If they won't do a MBP for me, I might have them throw some free stuff in... That I know I can pull! :apple:

I mean for this being the 5th replacement, they better do something special for me! Haha!

The CR Rep never called me back. I was on the phone with another CR agent who emailed him with me on the line. He replied back "Okay, I'm calling him now. Thanks for the heads-up." He never called.

Then while I was waiting, CR closed... blah blah blah

Talk about frustrating! I might have to call corporate CR on this one...

I must admit to having called up reps and left a message on there voice mail systems and not getting a call back.....its very rude of them....

As i remember it i was delt with by Corporate CR for my recent MB replacement......i never asked for it, but the email sig of the guy in Austin TX that i delt with said he was Corporate........

Okay, now they're saying they can't give me a replacement at all. I can't believe these people!

They did say they could upgrade me due to the nature of this one. I just got some crazy lady that said they wouldn't do anything for me.

Just say thank you and that you are hanging up. Do hang up and call back again. You have to be persistent, in the end, you will get someone who will understand your frustration.

Perseverance pays.

Even though apple logs all of your calls I still get everyone's name for when I inevitably have to ask for a corporate rep.

Wow. Good luck. I'm sure if you keep your cool, stay patient, and persistent, you'll get your replacement. maybe even the upgrade. Of course if that doesn't work, try throwing a fit. That's been known to work for me. :D

BTW, so are you a stunt man or something? Or do you have a supercharged pacemaker or other strong EM field surrounding your being?

Good luck. I'm so glad I've not ever had that much trouble in a row. (although I am on my 4th laptop screen in a year!!!)

I eventually got back in touch with the original product specialist. He said they could replace the computer with a refurbished WHITE MacBook! It's on my list to call Executive CR. I'm hoping for the best!

Even if your computer fails entirely they are replacing it, so pushing for upgrades is really just pushing it.

You know if you annoy them too much do have the right to refund your money and tell you to get lost.

Refund the cost of the computer that he paid for, or what it's worth now?

I know, I know... I'm not pushing too hard, but then when they say they are replacing it, then they're not. Then they are again, then not, it kind of annoys me. I got to someone named Ruth in Executive Customer Relations. I left her a nice message, and will hear back from her within "24 hours". More updates to come... :apple:

I have never had a rep phone me back within the 24 hours they say on there voice mail.........not once.........

I love my MacBook (white), but I honestly think these things are made of the worst material. The insides are good, the outsides not so much :|

Some people, like you, have internal issues which indicates a faulty machine. If it was mostly external, then it would have been probably due to these computers are made of vegetable oil plastic. You have just gotten unlucky…

I've had the bottom case replaced twice, display bezel replaced, display housing replaced, and the hinge (both sides) replaced, all cosmetic issues.

It's a good thing they switched to alum, know I know when I buy my new one that it won't have cosmetic issues :)

Ok, nobody ever called, but an Apple Operator sent me to the VP of AppleCare, Bill Frederick. I left him a v-mail. My case has apparently been sent to Executive CR (but not with Ruth like they said...) More to come...

Ok, Ruth actually did take the case over. That CR agent was BSing me.

Ruth said she would be "researching" my case and would get back to me on Wednesday. Well that's great and all, but I need a computer! She acts like she knows what she's doing, and genuinely wants to help me out. It's nice that there are people like that in (Executive) CR. :apple:

I'm ready to hear what she has to say! :D

Apparently because it hasn't been repaired before they won't do anything. I have to get it repaired a few times then they'll upgrade me. My luck says I will get a new one.

NO REPLACEMENT! I'm writing a letter to corporate, though. Who should I address it to?
