So passionate about something that will be obsolete in about 10 minutes.

life is short though

How about the iPad Air will have a uniform, even white background meanwhile the Retina Mini looks like someone pissed on the bottom of your screen near the home button :p

I know there are issues with yellow tint over part of the screen on some minis. My first one had it. However, my second one is beautiful, so it's not a case of all minis.

It could, however, be due to the two different screen types. One may be fine, the other maybe not. My good one was made last week, the first one was made two weeks ago, so it also could simply be improving yields. Who knows at this point.

I know what are display technologies, they are also something important in my daily job but I don't care about it for my freaking tablet. I can watch videos, read stupid posts on forums, see my moron friends Facebook updates and play games on a nice device.

If you don't like it, just return it, it's not like there is no other choice on the market.

Apparently, they are using both IGZO (IPS) and a-Si Backplane (FFS) display technologies in the retina iPad Mini. See the specs table at:

http://www.iclarified.com/35866/ret...ent-significantly-outperformed-by-competitors

This could explain why 1) some suffer from uneven screen tint with no image retention, and 2) some have perfectly even screen coloration with image retention to varying degrees.

The iPad Mini /w retina I received today has a perfectly even display, but there is the FAINTEST image retention using the IR test page. It's so faint with the extreme IR test that I don't think I'm ever going to see it normal use.

It's a keeper. Serial starts DLXLQ - meaning it was manufactured last week! - so it surely got here fast: I ordered it on November 22nd from Apple online Store.
