My initial post is about meaning, not spelling. But the side topics are welcome. :)

Also enjoy the side topics, but back to the original line of thought.

Affect vs effect. My wife had the hardest time differentiating the two, but now every time she writes either she’s quick to ask “Did I get it right?”. And she usually does!

Prolly not a good idea to use the N-word. :p

That non-word ("prolly") triggers my inner-curmudgeon.

Agreed, but the expression "grammar nazi" has somehow, slithered into common use.

However, I am perfectly open to an equally expressive substitute, one that evokes the perfervid passionate fanaticism of taking such a stance in life (and while grading essays).

Advancing age means that I no longer press certain keys quite as firmly as I perhaps ought to; this is not the first, or second, or tenth time that this has happened.

Oddly enough, I might just end up a (most unexpected) fan of the butterfly keyboard after all.
Now I’m thinking it fits and you should put it back in. I hate when grammar nazis mix up nine and nein.

I just going throw this in here:

I hate lol. hate it. Get something new. Stop putting it five times in your posts for things that aren't funny. "I didn't really need a new phone, but I got the XS lol I mean, my battery was dying and I'm broke lol but I figured I use it a lot so why not lol"
