My Note 3 reloads games, google chrome tabs and apps like crazy and it has 3GB of ram. If you think iPhone is the only platform with the reloading problem, you're wrong.
1) Samsung sucks, they can't even make a device with a notification menu that can pull down smoothly, so no points there.

2) Android Memory management in general is pretty terrible. The issue with the iPhones and iPads is simply that it is running out of memory and cannot keep the webpage in memory so it dumps it.

I dont get it. You guys never had ipads? Or any other tablet?

So what happened when you went from your 10 inch ipad back to your 4 or even 3.5 invh iphone?

To me the transition looks natural. Sure now i am working more often with larger screen, but i dont find it particularly hard to work with my iphone 5c if I want to. In 2 mins i am adjusted to the smaller screen no problem.

You make it seem like everyone owns a tablet. Also there is something different about using an iPhone which is on you at all times (or within close proximity) in comparison to an iPad which is not.

Samsung might very well suck when compared to Apple, but it is thanks to them that the iPhone 6+ came to see the light of day.

Agreed.

Samsung sucks when compared to no one. Such absolute horrid software design, both in fashion and function.

1GB of RAM is fine for a phone. Even the most complex apps don't break a sweat.

I don't understand why everyone has such an issue with 1GB of RAM.
People compare iphones RAM with other android devices. But Android needs more RAM to operate ios doesnt.

Attached is screeshot of my LG G3, No apps running just after reboot still its using 50% of ram. ios doesn't use as much ram to even run 10 apps at a time.

Exactly. I just killed all of my apps and my Note 3 is consuming 1.58GB of RAM out of available 2.71GB. That's completely outrageous. I can easily overload the phone as well, if I open too many apps. They start crashing, reloading and lagging. I honestly can't wait to get my 6+.

So you have almost 1.5GB free, which is 1.5 times as much as iOS has to start with! You'll be in for a shock when you get your iPhone.

What? My Android tablet has 1.5GB of RAM (in total) and tabs never reload. The notification menu also pulls down smoothly. You're spreading pure BS.

So how do you explain that I also get constant reloading issues that everyone is mentioning here? Earlier today I lost progress on a game I was playing because it reloaded after a few minutes. The chrome tabs reload like crazy as well.

I too am loving the new plus. It's like going from standard def square TV to 55 inch 4k widescreen. Loving it!! It is ridiculous how small the iPhone 5 looks now.

I wasn't eligible to get a new phone at launch unless I went with Next (still on the fence about that). But this year I'm glad because I'm going to stop in the Apple Store and look at the 2 new phones first hand. In iPhones I went from 4, 5, 5s. So never a huge change even though I always like the new ones more and more each year. This would be a big jump even with just the 4.7". I was leaning towards the 6+ 64gig, SG....but I have to see this bad boy in person first!

Android devices have proper multitasking, so if you have a ton of apps running you'll need to close them using task manager.

This thread is the proof how good Apple is at marketing ;)

I used both new iPhones and for now I'm keeping my iPhone 5.. It annoys me how I cannot open NC without changing the way I hold my phone (with one hand obviously) even on the 4.7" one..

But I don't want to be that guy, I'm glad you guys like your new phone and that Apple finally went for options. :)

1gb of ram. Still in the Stone Age.

I agree, 1 gb ram is JUST enough. I don't want just enough, I want more then enough memory: screw u apple, I love my 6+ but it could be so much better, we have the technology and it would be cheap!

I have device that have 2GB of ram but the experience of using it feels like a stone age. And I really mean it. I personally prefer a fluid experience, never been bothered with specs. I have never truly understood why some people go bananas for specs!!

I have was totally against getting a bigger screen, then I started to warm to the idea. Now I have my 6+, I love it. Never realised what I was missing out on.

It is a ridiculous sized phone, but it feels amazing . I still can’t wrap my head around it as a device, because it’s not the ‘iPad Nano’, but it sure as hell doesn’t feel like just an iPhone anymore.

My wife got a plus too and loved her 5, but she hit the nail on the head better than I can with

"It’s so futuristic…I feel like I’m standing on the medical deck of the Starship Enterprise"

Unused RAM is wasted RAM. Just because an Android phone uses 1.5GB out of 3GB, doesn't mean it's bloated, it's making use of the RAM it has. Just look at OS X, on 10.9 I have 4GB of RAM, and almost all of it is being used after a reboot.

And that's what people said about screen size. Hmm, guess people don't want more than 1gb of RAM until Apple says so.

I think you don't get it, sorry.
I would not mind Apple putting 2GB or RAM or even 4 in it as long as it does not effect the battery life. But I would not start bitching about it just because I love the high specs, until it effects my user experience. So far for me it hasn't. And I do not use smartphones more then 2 years, I sell them and put the money towards a new device.

RAM is a requirement to run an operation system. There is a certain amount of RAM needed to run and operating system and it can very from one OS to another. Screen size is different. As you may very well know, in our universe, 1 size does not satisfy all. It never has and it never will. There have been people unhappy with iPhone screen size for years and there are others who still prefer the 3.5" and 4" screen sizes.

I was always under the impression that more RAM resulted in higher battery life because it was easier on the system to recall an app from RAM than reprocess it each time it fell out. Is this not true?

Ok trying to be objective besides the attention-grabbing headline. Coming from am iPhone 5 I truly never realized what I was missing out on with a truly large screen. To be objective yes the phone is big and will not be for everyone and will take some time to get used to. But to any people worried about portability I must say the phone being so thin fits comfortable in my jeans which are pretty skinny and my slim fitting suit pants. To sum it up I'm honestly just laying on my chaise watching Netflix playing with my new gold 6+ wondering why I've missed out in this experience for so long :D

I had this same feeling in December 2010. Of course the Dell Streak 5 can't carry the jockstrap of the iPhone 6 or any modern smart phone. For a while I had a big phone when the rest of the world thought that big phones were bat-sh** crazy. I was ahead of the curve...but then Dell didn't update the software so I quickly fell behind the curve :D

Enjoy your new :apple: iPhone 6.
