My Galaxy S4 is showing its age so I was thinking to switch back to an iPhone next month when my contract expires. But I can't do it. $750 for a new smartphone is simply insane.

Not that I can't afford it but to pay that much for something that I will only use a year or two doesn't sit well with me.
I am thinking of going with a $200 Asus Zenfone 2 if I'm staying Android or maybe go to a Nokia Lumia Windows phone for even less than $200.

I`m switching from LG G2 to iPhone 6S 64GB Gold. I don`t wanna use their lagger android ever again. I have phones like LG GT 540, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, LG Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, LG G2, Xiaomi Mi 3, Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. My LG G2 is little more than a year, but its battery capacity is moving from 3000mAh to 1900 mAh due everyday usage. When the phone was with android 4.4.4 was extremely fast, with no LAG at all. When 5.0.2 is come my phone become most lagging phone of all time that I had. I have made hard reset every two months, but there is no save from LAG. I don`t mention other problems like yellow spots to the screen edges, Glonnas stop working and etc. This LG G2 is for a serious amount of money and I don`t have the quality that I have paid for. That's some reasons, if I had all day - all day I will say about how bad is android and phones that I have used :) For me I want to switch, and never look back. I first try iOS when I have Note 3. One of my friends has iPad 2 and I`msaying to him - iPad - ha ha ha only 512 rams. He told me If you want, we can / vs / our gadgets. And when we do that my Note 3 was crying in the corner with 3 GB of RAMfrom iPad with only 512 ram. That was my point of break.

Switching from an OG Moto X to a 6s. The moto has been a good phone but is showing its age and lollipop is not improving it much. The new Moto Pure would have been my upgrade if it was not a damn phablet! Can't argue with the price point on them. There is not much of a selection of new android phones with sub 5 inch screens, so iphone it is. Everything else I use is apple so it's all good.

I'm switching from a Galaxy Note 4 to an iPhone 6S+. Android isn't that bad BUT I feel like I'm always "managing" my Note 4 more than I have too. Too many quirks to list, but the whole idea of "you can customize the phone anyway you want too" is true..but it comes with a lot of energy because all those individual apps that you can download just don't work as well with each other than with the iOS apps. Also, on my Note 4 specifically, I also had bluetooth music stuttering (which to this day isn't fixed), and continual problems with my SIM card (that made me wish I could swap out my phone....although Verizon's answer was "its normal, just pull the battery out and back in once in a while" to fix it! Even I know that's an absurd thing to say. (How I missed the Genius Bar at that point!).

In all, even with those issues, I'm not going to bash Android...because its not a bad OS. Its just...in my opinion, seems to be all over the place and not as tightly executed as iOS.

I think pure unaltered android is a great out of the box os; think, nexus or GPE phones. I'm just tired of buying a box stock htc or Samsung and having to root it, etc. not to mention lollipop is terrible. I like android, but I like iOS that much more. And the hardware and overall quality of Apple devices will never be trumped.

I'm "technically" moving from a GS4 to a 6S+. I say technically because when I joined my new job, I had the option to order whichever phone I wanted as a work phone. Since the 6 Plus was announced, and my preference for larger phones (at the time, the iPhones my wife had were just way too tiny), I thought I'd give it a shot. From that day on, I never picked up my S4 unless it was for a call. I loved Android ever since my S2, but the way it's dealt with upgrades, the way they allow carriers to load crap on the OS and prevent the updates from happening just adds fuel to my disdain for Samsung's build quality. It was like the abandoned the S line for the Note line, in terms of build quality and sturdiness. Now, I'll be replacing my twice cracked S4 for a silver 6S+. When combined with my gold 6S, my front pockets will be quite protected. :p

Yes. From galaxy s4. Went for iPhone 6s plus. Yes it's bigger but want more screen size and battery. Fed up with constant faffing around with android. Samsung sw full of bugs. Cyanogenmod flaky at times, friends with nexus had issues. Inconsistent performance, actually still restricted unless rooted, another thing not O play around with.. Or alter native roms. UI not fluid. Android pay slow to get off the ground. Slow sw updates except nexus
Had enough. First try ever with iOS.... I'm hopeful

Go to dev options (tab the build number 10 times to enable it if you haven't already) and change transition times to 0.5x. That will speed up the Note 4 to nearly S6 and Note 5 levels (coming from S6 Edge).

Wow, thank you for letting me know.

As I said earlier I was already happy with the speed and performance of my Note 4 and you just made it that much faster. This thing feels like an absolute screamer now

Cheers mate!

I am using a SG S6 now and I preordered a 6s+ 64gb. However, I'll be keeping my S6 and switch between Android and iOS when I get bored.

I have 7 lines available for upgrade to 2 yrs contract if I want to. I also thought of upgrading all lines and get the 6s and resell. I get 50% service discount from AT&T. So, I am paying around $130/month for all 7 lines under 15gb shared data plan :)

I know what you're saying about the money. I may hold out to see how the Google Nexus 5 (2015) looks. I would miss the continuity among my Apple products, but I'm having a hard time putting out $800 (including sales tax) for a 64GB 6s.

The expense of the 6s plus Apple's requirement of an account with one of the four major carriers to preorder a phone, when those who used an MVNO have no such account, if really off-putting. Folks say just do this or that and it will work, but why must Apple make it so complicated to take my money?

Coming from a Note 4 and going to a 6S+. Frustrated with lagging issues and just want to try iOS again. Will likely return to Android when the Snapdragon 820 devices hit with Quick Charge 3.0.

I always have at least one iPhone and one Android device at all times. I'm a geek and I love both platforms so I want to have the best of both worlds. I switch my sim out daily sometimes.

I have an iPhone 6s Plus on pre-order and I'm really excited about the new Nexus 5x.

I go back and forth. I can see the positives in both platforms. Both have positives and negatives. I honestly could use them interchangeably depending on my needs for that day.

I've been using Android for last 4~5 years.
I currently own a Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy VR, two induction chargers, Moto 360.
I pre-ordered iPhone 6S+.
I'm ready for something different.

I used to have 8GB iPhone 4S but I switched to Lumia 735. I needed more space and I wanted to wait for something newer (iPhone 7, if I somehow found patience) so I have gone with something cheap.

Now it turns out that my boss is going to gift me 64GB iPhone 6S for the project I just finished working on (.NET dev). Well, as soon as it's available in Poland.

When I pick up my iPhone 6s (or 6s+), I will be moving from an LG G3. I have had that or a Samsung Galaxy S3 for the better part of three years. Before that, I had an iPhone 4. I went to the S3 because I wanted a larger screen. Now that Apple has them, there is no need for me to stick with Android.

Android upgrades always either slow down the phone or significantly reduce battery life. On the S3, it did both. On the LG G3, battery life has decreased but not to the same extreme degree as the S3. On the G3, performance seems to be about the same, even after upgrading to Android 5.01.

Why a newer iPhone? I miss the inherent simplicity of it, and upgrades do not undercut performance or battery life like it can and often does on many Android phones.

I am switching from a Motorola Turbo to the 6s Plus. My wife has a 5s, my son wants a 6.. so it makes sense to go 'all in' and then use the family sharing of the App store etc.

I might miss the large battery of the Turbo, but I have been growing more and more frustrated that android devices don't seem to last. I know many that use iPhones and get almost twice the life out of the hardware (maybe not the battery, but those to me are wear items)

Heck I am still using a 2007 MBP, if it would work with more than 3GB of ram I would not need to upgrade that either..

I think the hardware Apple uses might be a bit higher grade than the android hardware, but that is just my opinon

Another reason is, accessories.. (outside of bluetooth) docks etc are very common for the iPhones from what I have seen

Currently using a LG G3 and decided in trying out iOS on a phone for the first time. Had recently purchased an iPad mini 2.

I do see a lot of the usefulness of iOS and such. Just getting to the point where the differences between Android and iOS are blurring.

I am thinking about going from the note 4 to the 6S plus 128gb. Had some questions for those of you that have experience with both operating systems. How do the Google Apps like maps, Gmail, calender, chrome, drive, and keep compare to the android versions in terms of functionality and aesthetics?

There is no Google Keep for iOS, and no word on if there will be one. There are 3rd party apps, but I haven't tried them.

IMO Chrome and maps are great. The only downside is that they are not integrated and on iOS, you can't chose your default apps, so everything defaults to Apple Maps and Safari. I *think* if you're in Chrome and click on an address it will open in Google Maps, but not from other apps.

For gmail and calendar, I connect my google account to the email/contacts/calendar in settings. I really like the google calendar app and use that too, but as I have a Watch, having everything in the native apps makes the watch apps and notifications run smoothly. It's been a couple years for me, but I never liked the native mail on Android, so I'd say the iOS app or one of the 3rd party apps are better than what I had on my HTC phones.

I've got a Samsung S5, thinking about moving back to the Apple world. I've had it for a year, changed over from an iPhone 5. Tired of apps crashing, not working consistently (having a notification pop up, but when you open the notification, some apps open to the article, some just open the app and you have to find it). In general, the OS seems ok, but the app developers need to get on the same page.

I never really left the Apple environment entirely; I've had my iPad throughout. So contacts, e-mails, etc will be easy to transfer over.
