I've had my i7 MBP HR-AG for about 2 months now my brother has the exact same pro with GLossy screen lately i've been feeling like i made a mistake picking this one.

Also completely random here, but do you guys think i should sell my MBP, will the new generation be out soon?

Are you happy with your computer right now? If so, then keep it - you'll get lots of utility out for it. No one knows for sure when it will be out but according to the buyer's guide, it is imminent...

/sarcasm...

If I bought a current generation antiglare I would be more than happy with it as I am with my early 2008 matte screen :)

i have a 13" glossy and now have the 17" ag, and i absolutely prefer the ag screen over the glossy. i can't imagine having to go back to that type of screen.

Eh. I don't regret the antiglare in the slightest, it means I don't have to worry about positioning or angle when I'm hauling it around. The hi-res, on the other hand... trying to read tiny text has been hell on my eyes.

I spent a long time debating whether to go glossy or anti-glare. Eventually I went anti-glare and 6 months in I have no regrets. Antiglare is awesome!

What don't you like about it? :)

If you're not happy about it, sell it and buy a Glossy one. But if I had to buy a new MBP, it's going to be anti-glare again :D

Absolutely not, it was absolutely worth every penny. Any future MBPs will all be AG, I could never go back to a glossy screen.

That being said, if you regret it, it would likely be better for you to sell and go back to a glossy screen.

Anti-Glare has better whites, better colour gamut/accuracy, etc.

It's all-around better.

Plus, you don't have to deal with this:

If you don't like it - there's gonna be new 15" MBPs sooner, rather than later - as it looks like Apple's about to adopt SandyBridge quickly:

AG is better than glossy for work. I have to occasionally occasionally sit in front of my computer screen for extended periods of time. Luckily, AG reduces eye strain by minimizing reflective light. Glossy is better if you want colors to 'pop' when you are looking at picture and video.

Lastly, I just bought my macbook pro. My set-up is perfect at the moment! I needed a computer and I couldn't wait 4-5 months for the next update.

i 110% prefer antiglare. i will not buy another apple machine if antiglare isnt available as an option!

If you do not like the computer with an AG screen, you should try to return it and get the one of your liking. As other users pointed out, there are benefits of having AG, but that is up to you.

Personally, I don't have issues with glossy screens here.

I love love my anti-glare now I have lack of finger prints everywhere. Not that I touched the screen but it happens. Also lack of the reflection issues.

Also anyone know how to clean the antiglare screens?

I love my glossy screen. But partly because I love the 13" size, and I can't get AG. So I will continue to love it. :D

Any research you do will reveal that glare is the number one cause of eye strain. Nonetheless there are countless debates about which looks better. Shiny toys sell.

Me? I use mine as a computer, not a toy to stare at & impress others... :)

For a period of time Apple stopped offering anti-glare which had been standard since the first Apple laptop. But trying to cram glossy down our throats didn't work, there was a reduction in sales. Therefore Apple silently put anti-glare back, got greedy and charged for it. Oh well, no surprise.

Another antiglare lover here. No regrets at all - the screen quality seems great to me and I no longer have to keep tilting my laptop just so to make sure there's no glare.

I'm confused. Which do you prefer?

Personally, I use several AG's at home and work, and also occasionally use a glossy. The glossy reminds me how much I prefer AG. That's just me.

Glossy is for kids who want a shiny toy.

AG is a blessing. You can sit whenever you want wherever you want and simply do your stuff. I wouldn't miss that and the screen quality is almost perfect.
If you use your MBP as Desktop Replacement it makes no difference but if you actually like to get out of your room and work in your winter garden glossy is a pain. With AG you are free.

I used a 13" glossy MacBook for two years before I got my HD matte MBP about a week ago. I don't miss the glossy at all. Very happy with the switch. Seems easier on the eyes. The matte screen and silver bezel look much more professional than the glossy screen and black bezel.

I still like my AG except when Im scrolling in safari. Very faintly, I can see the AG coating. Something never present on the glass.

I don't regret it but I sort of question my decision to get the AG option. I think it's mostly because the black bezel looks much nicer. I'm sure I'd hate the glossy screen.
