Don’t see where it says, not considered a trade in or not eligible for trade in credits if available.

Yeah I was told I would get trade in credits but I would need to have the device for 12 or 13 months.

Other consideration, they can always change eligible plans which may not be a good deal or what want. All carriers do that pretty much too when want you off an old plan.

Yes, but worse case scenario the $1000 off goes away, you are still paying half the cost of the IUP program. I would rather pay $466 and trade in the phone with AT&T Next Anytime then pay $707 and trade it in with IUP.

There are a lot of variables, but without any trade-in, both AT&T and Apple Upgrade are roughly the same amount. Using a iPhone 16 Pro 512GB as an example, with Apple Upgrade, requiring no trade-in device, it works out to $65.33/month with Apple Care + Theft and Loss. AT&T is $36.12/month, the yearly upgrade option $10, and Apple Care + Theft and Loss would be $13.49/month for a total of $59.61. So approx $5.72 difference per month.

I was looking at the Next Up Anytime plan, considering it for a couple of people on my plan. I'm on the IUP plan myself.

I'm normally very good at math, but am getting old so fewer brain cells active :). My main concern was the credits. To get a 16 Pro Max on the Next Up Anytime plan, you have to trade in a phone still, right? And you get up to $1000 in credits over 3 years like usual. So, next year, to get the 17 Pro Max (or whatever it happens to be), you have to have made 12 or 13 payments, plus trade in the 16 Pro Max, & would still get a $1000 credit (assuming everything else stays the same)?

Yes that’s what I was told by the AT&T CSR.

NUA is an add on to your line. To get the $1000 this year for the 16 Pro Max, you’ll need to trade in a qualifying phone.

Next year, to get the 17 Pro Max, you have to “turn in” (it’s specifically turn in, not trade in) the 16 Pro Max after 12 months in order to get the $1000 credit AND you have to continue paying for the NUA add on.

Can someone explain why you would want to upgrade 3 times in one year?

Honestly, I think at this present time upgrading three times a year wouldn’t really be the norm for most people. Back in the day I was on T-Mobile and on the jump program and I would often jump during the year because they were multiple android phones that will come out. Even towards the end, I would often jump from the iPhone to the Samsung flagship phone. Now present day I wouldn’t really jump from phone to phone, but I would like to be able to upgrade my iPhone yearly without having to pay off 50% of the phone. Also, the benefit of the AT&T next time plan is realistically you only paying about 270 of the phone off instead of almost 800.

I just paid my 15 pro max off and upgraded. I was wondering why the next went up to $10 a month. Guess i should have read the fine print but glad i went with it
