Yeah but it will make the preorders less upset. I mean business wise they're losing revenue and potential customers, but those of us who ordered online aren't feeling like Best Buy is screwing us by taking our orders online just to save inventory for additional sales in store while we just wait. But if their supply chains are actually separate then I guess that could counter that argument.That's pretty foolish on Best Buy's part. Slow clap for them.
Now, instead of having one group of upset customers (people who preordered online), they're going to have two groups of upset customers (people who preordered online AND people who want to walk in the store and give them money to walk out with a watch.) It's not like those watches sitting in the cage at the store are going to start being used to fulfill online preorders.
EDIT: if anything they could've sent out emails telling the first pre orders they could pick up the watches that were available in store and saved them for in store pickup for preorders.
