Really? I thought it would in the range of £900-£1000, are you sure it's only £789?

Where is that number from? - Also what about the lower end models. I don't need 128GB storage.

The iPhone 6S Plus price is documented on both UK and US stores! On the US store the 128GB 6S Plus is $949, and on the UK sore it is £789! The 128GB WiFi iPad Pro is only documented on the US store but is the same cost as a 6S Plus, $949! Therefore it is safe to assume the iPad Pro 128GB WiFi will in fact, be £789, the same as the 128GB iPhone 6S Plus... Why would an iPhone of the same US cost be different to an iPad after the same exchange rate? Not sure about the 32GB however...

I don't wanna work on assumptions. I really don't think Apple will price them the same.

Nope

Air 2 is a far better option and more portable and I have a MacBook Pro so wouldn't need the iPad pro

I am very tempted but I really can't decide. The girlfriend is pushing me not to get it so we will see.

Why would they not be? It is dictated by the exchange rate before VAT! Why would one be more than the other when they are identically priced...

If it is more than £789 Apple can well and truly jog on.

What's a "casual user"? I use my Air a fair bit, but it tends to stay next to my bed unless I'm travelling. Around the house I use iMac and macbook. I will certainly update the Air to a Pro, half for the pencil and half for the improved screen size. The screen size in particular for PDF viewing (including music), and watching programmes in bed (for which the improved speakers should make a big difference).

I'm not necessarily a "casual" user, in that I want some of the Pro specific features, but I don't intend to use it professionally outside of maybe taking notes during meetings at work. The main reason I want to the Pro is for Pencil. I've wanted a quality stylus on iOS pretty much as long as iOS has been around. Very excited it's finally coming.

I do want some hands on time with it though. In pictures, the device looks substantially larger than an Air, and I want to be sure it feels nice in hand and such before pulling the trigger. Then again, I see pics and videos from the hands on and it looks pretty manageable. Also need to confirm Pencil performance is up to snuff.

I just have mixed feelings about the overall device size I guess. I think it will be great to have more working space, but I also love the portability and sturdiness of the Air.

Wouldn't you gain a lot from the bigger screen when watching videos? Obviously depends on where your wanting to watch videos, but if it's not during travelling then it's a big plus no?

Do you watch movies from a tablet? If yes, do you keep your tablet pretty close to your face? Like leaning back and a tablet is on your stomach leaning against your legs? Think about doing the same with a larger screen, try it with a 13" laptop and dont move it further. Actually you dont gain anything, because you have to move the larger screen further to see the whole screen at once on this distance. Watching a tv is another scenario, it is not on your stomach. It is much further. For example i dont use my 15" laptop to watch movies, because it is too big to be kept close to my eyes. Im watching movies from my air2 because i can see almost the whole screen without moving my eyes all the time from one corner to another when the ipad is leaning to my legs. Even with a size of air2 it is hard to watch movies when the screen is close.

A larger screen doesnt automatically mean a better watching experience.
