Any chat bubble themes that work with 3.0?

Wow. This thread sure went off the rails.

I subscribed looking for themes in Cydia that worked with 3.0 and we've got people talking about creating themes after everything...
 
Ok, I found a way to use the bubble themes that you download from Cydia. Here's what you do:

1. Download the SMS theme that has the bubbles you want.
2. Find it in SSH
3. Open it
4. Go to bundles
5. Where it says "com.apple.MobileSMS", change the "MobileSMS" to "chatkit"

this worked but didnt fix the backround issue. anyone find a fix yet? ugh :(

None of them do a thing. Does anyone here have a clue as to what I am missing?

there's an SMS theme called Tweetie that works with winterboard. can be found off of Cydia. then you can just edit the balloons and rename the theme if you want using SSH. and i know it works because i've tried it. still no support for backgrounds, though.

Also, Buuf 2 works (and is killer)
 
grrr! it would just be so much easier if apple would just have an option to do this. seriously which brainiac at apple thought of green and gray PUKE!!! :mad: i decided not to jailbreak my phone because i dont want to deal with the possible repercussions but i still wish i could change the colors.

and downloaded the folder after registering with that site.

Using SSH navigate to:

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ChatKit.framework/

and replace the Balloon_1.png and Balloon_2.png files with the .png images/colors of your choice. Cyberduck works great.

Balloon_1.png is the Sender (you)
Balloon_2.png is the Recipient (your friend)

It's very simple and easier than you might think. Good luck! :)

i'm a little bit confused. how do you use ssh, like what application. i downloaded diskaid like it mentioned further in this forum but that is not really getting me anywhere

well i guess i was just wondering what all i have to install. i read around and found out i have to jailbreak and have cydia installed to get open ssh. i am in the process of jailbreaking but it is hung up on the waiting for reboot phase (i am using redsnow mac version). does the reboot stage usually take a while?

I just replace what I want to mod in the original folders (keeping a copy of the original, of course) instead of having a dozen different themes running in Winterboard.

All works the same !!

Even easier using Diskaid...with this same exact process!

You make it all more simpler!:cool:

EDIT; DiskAid users heres the path to get to those files stated above.

yeah for me cyberduck was not as good. i prefer to just replace the files like you said that way i dont have to run anything extra. it looks great
 
Hey, Does anyone have a copy of the original colours they can post? i SSH'd and edited mine, but now i think themeing is a better idea. I was a noob and didnt save the original colours. :(
