He may have, but as I mentioned the free mode of DockMod includes the black dock.
Is that wallpaper Retina? If so, could you post it 🙂
I didn't get a black dock, it looked the same.
Here's a link to the original, color version with different size options. I did the black and white mod myself (I'm not on a retina machine).
----------
DockMod > Actions > Toggle Free Mode.
A word of warning: if you enable this mode it adds "DockMod Free Mode" to all your dock app titles when you mouse over them. Some people hate this, it doesn't bother me.
I did that before, nothing changed at all.
Are you on Mavericks? And, if so, did you download the beta version of DockMod for Mavericks? And, of course, the obvious question: did you enable DockMod from the menu?
Yes, yes, and yes. It said DockMod Connected, Enabled, FreeMode
Dock still looks the same. If it helps i did the transparent mod via terminal commands, do I have to change it back?
I'm not sure, but it's worth a shot. I had done a terminal mod that took the shine off the original dock (I'm not sure if that's the same one you're talking about), but it didn't affect DockMod. I would disable DockMod, remove the transparency, then re-enable DockMod. Otherwise, I'm not sure why it's not working for you.
Another thought: do you see the "DockMod Free Mode" label on your dock icons?
Yes it showed up DockMod Free Mode, I don't know what happened, is it clashing with obsidian and the nocturne theme?

I don't see the link 🙁 Can you link again?
There is actually a LOT you can do with macs. I am not to fariliar if things have changed on Mavericks as I have not bothered much since snow leopard.
Here is some examples of what you can do. This is what I had a few years ago 🙂

Ew man, iOS7? Not sure why'd you'd intentionally put that on your computer 😀
That wallpaper's really awesome, do you have a link to it? Preferably high-res (I have a 13" retina)! 🙂
