interesting

after extensive googling, i never thought I'd find this on a mac forum

Roidy, or one of the other members, if you wouldn't mind sending me a link to the program as well. I have 500 mp4's to set up in WMC and I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

No problem, I'm just glad people are finding it useful, it's one of those thing you'll probably only ever need to use once:D

Any chance of a new, working link?

Thanks

Or does anyone know of an automated way to extract the art from thousands of M4V/MP4 files in a batch? The script mentioned in this thread has fallen by the wayside...

roidy, all your links have expired. any chance I could get you to email me a new link? Love you long time. Thanks!

I ran into the same problem whan I set up my XBMC PC. I ended up writing my own software to scan an entire directory and extract all the artwork. However it's a Windows program. If you have access to a Windows machine I'll give you the program.

Hi Roidy, I would love to get the windows program to extract album art that you made. It would be very helpful as I have a ton of mp4s. Thanks in advance. All the previous posted links are dead.

No problem, here you go:-

http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=66597609859404518158

PLEASE NOTE:- This is a very basic program with minimal error checking and was never intended to be used by anybody else, so you use it at your own risk, I wont be held responsible for any loss of data. Test it on a few files in a separate directory to make sure it works and nothing bad happens before using it on your main library.

Simply select how you want the files named and the extension, jpeg or bmp and then choose a top level directory, the application will recursively search through all directory's below the top level and extract the art.

Thank you very much. I totally understand that this is your personal program and it might not work 100 percent. I am still grateful that you are sharing it.
[doublepost=1488102095][/doublepost]Wow! I just tested it and it works amazingly. You saved me a ton of time doing this manually. I literally could not find any program on the internet that can do what your program does. You could sell it because a lot of people will pay for it. Anyway thanks again.
