I would imagine they enable it as late as possible before the deadline and will advertise it nowhere.
shouldnt matter as both are part of EUI will check it asap. Just installing iOS 17 on iPhone/iPad (Switzerland here, but devices purchased in Germany)
think it's more about device than apple IDYeah it will probably be part of a point release and only enabled for European AppleIDs
Never ever tell that to a Swiss person. We want all its benefits though, but we hate it and will never be part of them. Hopefully. (Just kidding, many people don't know that we're not part of EU haha).shouldnt matter as both are part of EU
let us know !

But yea, the devices are mostly "ZD/A" (France/Germany) or "TY/A" (Italy).
You can just try the last years iOS version together with what you are looking for into google.Any sites you can get the dev profiles from like last year??
It will be linked to your Apple ID’s region - not the origin of the device.I will check it asap. Just installing iOS 17 on iPhone/iPad (Switzerland here, but devices purchased in Germany)
But you can change the region any time? I often do that when I visit a new country and need their local apps. Disable family sharing -> change country -> load apps -> change country back to home country -> enable family sharing. “Purchased” foreign apps are still there and able to download. So I think it’s device based as they do in Japan with shutter sound or in Saudi Arabia with FaceTime block.It will be linked to your Apple ID’s region - not the origin of the device.
Is it true it’s locked for Japan ? I live in Japan and when I moved here I had a Pixel 6, when I arrived the shutter sound was force turned on. But I bought my iPhone here. I’ll be back in the EU in august and really hope I can sideload once back there.But you can change the region any time? I often do that when I visit a new country and need their local apps. Actually I can confirm the Japan shutter thing is related to location and not device ID or App Store country. So maybe you’ll have to physically be in the EU ?Is it true it’s locked for Japan ? They're not required to implement it until next year so it seems they will take their time.I can confirm it’s not there at all. Not even mentioned in the developper settings or anywhere else. It would be so weird if they introduced it with a point version, this feature is more important than anything they showed us on stage
Probably will be, but here in the EU it hasn’t been enabled as of now… Neither sideloading nor any other mandated function like interoperable messaging, either that or they made it real hard to find how to make it work…Is it really EU only?
In iOS 17.0 (21A5248v) sideloading is not possible in the EU, neither is the possibility for interoperable messenging or installing third party voice assistants… However following the DMA Apple will have to open up these features before March the 6thhas any dev based in EU installed ios 17 yet ? how does sideloading work ?
You sure? I visited Tokyo in March and I can’t remember having shutter sound active.Actually I can confirm the Japan shutter thing is related to location and not device ID or App Store country. So maybe you’ll have to physically be in the EU ?
