I don't think you can transfer iTunes purchases like that.

I somewhat suspect that your best option might actually be to sign into his iTunes account on the new MacBook first, that ought to associate the pre-installed software with his account.

Then you can sign out, sign back in as you and because you already have the apps on your account, they'll continue to be updated fine. Probably. Never tried it, but it seems like it ought to work

Just do a clean install and shutdown the machine before you enter your details. Than you father can configure it as if it's new

I'm pleased I picked Silver it's my first Mac laptop and in my head MacBooks are always silver (I realise there's been other colours in the past)

It matches my Mac Mini too.

I'm still surprised how few have chosen silver, I thought it would be the gold option that was rarer.

I got my rMB yesterday and here are some of my thoughts:

- upgrading from an early 2008 MBP means this is a huge jump (including performance)
- the screen is of superb quality and really does make non retina feel outdated
- I had no problems setting it up (wifi was off)
- typing/lack of travel is not an issue for me
- the overall design is ahead of its time and they use the space very well
- best speakers I've heard on any MB. Sounds fuller. I'd still use headphones for music and movies but speakers are great for casual use.
- it makes my wife's MBA feel instantly outdated by a large margin

Setup related:
- 1password requires the version on the Mac Apple Store for iCloud sync to be able to work
- iCloud, gmail, Evernote, pocket. CleanMyMac, FireVault all setup without issues.

I've still to migrate my music and documents so will see how that goes.

What I'd like to ask in return is that someone post some comparison shots of the 12" rMB against an 11" Air please

It still didn't moved since Thursday. It had a departure entry yesterday, but nothing new.
Maybe we will see some changes only on Monday.

I was also to test the MacBook in the local Store. They also had some in stock, but only the silver one with 256 GB.

I'm still waiting for my shipment, but i can definitely say for now: This is one of the best MacBooks i've ever seen before.

Was working away in the garden when my apple watch tapped me on the wrist, I was very surprised to see Apple have shipped my April 17th order of the space grey MacBook........get in there!!!

Ordered the basic spacegrey on 11 april, deliv window is 20/05-02/06. Still nothing happend.... Really sad to see that third party stores get stock but I still don't have my early order #
