Mine arrived too. 1.3 Space Grey. So far so good but I can already notice some operations taking longer than my iMac by several seconds not just milliseconds. It's clearly the slowest SSD based mac available but usability seems OK though.

Just got my usb-c adapter! Even though Apple said it would come tomorrow.... Hoping to get my macbook on friday instead of the 12th... Anyone here with some positive experience regarding earlier shipping than estimated?

I think a lot of people have gotten their shipments -later- than originally planned, or exactly on time. My arrival estimate just slipped by another day (from the 12th to 13th), for instance. Not to be a downer! Although I'm really wondering how it can take 7 days to get from Pudong Airport to Geneva. Even with different distribution centers, I can't imagine that taking more than 3 working days.

What was your initial delivery estimate?

Mine was last scanned in Shanghai yesterday, and UPS says delivery on 11th, while Apple's order page says the 8th.

It is UPS - they always quote 5 working days. There is no intelligence used to produce a delivery date.... it really is a target date based on the service criteria. That's why you see things typically delivery earlier.

Apple uses the budget way to ship, they could go for overnight shipping from Asia to Europe. But they choose the cheaper one that stops a couple of times along the way. Too bad they don't offer a paid option for faster shipping, would have payed for overnight shipping.

Yes, I would have gladly paid for faster shipping!

Went out today for 2 hours and missed the delivery. It's coming back tomorrow.

On the good news side, the dongle should arrive tomorrow as well so will be able to use USB to transfer the large files I need to.

On a different note, and off topic. Please advise if too off topic and I can shift this question to a new topic.

I am giving my old MBA to my father. The question is, how to transfer the old rights of the MBA's iWorks to my father's iTunes account.

The only method I thought of is to setup the MB with my father's details, then startup again with my details.

Any advise would be appreciated.

I don't think you can transfer iTunes purchases like that.

I somewhat suspect that your best option might actually be to sign into his iTunes account on the new MacBook first, that ought to associate the pre-installed software with his account.

Then you can sign out, sign back in as you and because you already have the apps on your account, they'll continue to be updated fine. Probably. Never tried it, but it seems like it ought to work :)
