All cases and bumpers on the 5 look goofy. I tried a few and decided to go naked. Plus AppleCare +. Better deal than buying cases screen protectors etc.

Im not sure why bumpers get such negativity but i prefer them. I don't like the feel of the iPhones edges so I got a bumper from target. It offers drop protection, gives better grip, removes easily but doesn't add much weight/bulk.

i've tried a few different bumpers on my iphone 5. i found that none of them are perfect or quite like the ones made by apple.

however, if i had to choose for you, i'd say the ones from target are the best. it comes with metal buttons. its slightly warped on the bottom because the bottom is all rubber and the plastic is a little wavy on one corner but it's not too bad. i'm a perfectionist when it comes to the stuff i buy and even i could put up with those "imperfections." not sure what brand they are but the box said "best case."

i've also tried the blason bumper case from amazon and though it looks high quality online, it's much less so in person. it is worse than the target bumper cases. i also bought a generic bumper case from amazon but didn't like it because it had plastic buttons.

hope this helps!

I agree with the prior recs for the Monoprice.com bumper.

Here's mine:

It's a two piece design with a hard plastic outer and a softer polyurethane inner.

The only thing is that it may overlap the edges of some screen protective films. I had to trim down my Skinomi film around the edges because the bumper was causing the film to peel up.

For the price, the minimal bulk compared to a full case, and the good quality materials I really like it. I bought a few other cases including a "bumper" style case with a translucent back but I think I'm gonna keep the Monoprice bumper on for now.

The only thing that I would consider instead would be an "Element style" CNC metal bumper in gunmetal that doesn't negatively impact the signal reception.

Nice.
If you also charge for instalation you can make some profit:)

The ones I sold cost me $1.50 apiece, which is expensive by ebay standards:rolleyes:, so I made 100% profit on them. I included installation because I'm such a nice guy ;). They were all happy with my installation because I did a bubble-free installation. I'm magical:cool:

I just received the monoprice bumper. It is very thin and durable. I love it!

I was going to get a monoprice bumper but I heard that the charger doesn't connect completely. So I got the Poetic bumper on amazon and let me tell you its amazing. Fits really well and had no problems with it.

I have had ZERO problems with the charger on mine or my wife's with the Monoprice bumper.

however, I'm thinking that the Apple lightning to 30pin plug adapter (small rectangle) may not fit. I'm going to order some more of the 0.2m adapter cables instead.

I just got my SGP Snow Series in Satin Silver in the mail today. Looks great with my white iPhone 5 and fits nice and snug. Very happy so far!

BTW, the Monoprice bumper works with the Apple lightning to 30 pin adapter (0.2m version). No mods needed. This can be an issue with other bumpers/cases as the lightning plug portion of the adapter has a larger diameter housing than the Apple lightning to USB cable.
