Every iOS device that Apple selling, from the newest to the oldest, should and need to run the latest iOS smoothly without any excuses. What i dont understand is why they're releasing non finish versions...
You're joking, right? My girlfriend's spare 3GS should run iOS 11 smoothly? On that old hardware?
Let me install Windows 10 on my old 1990s era PC. What? I can't? Shocker!

I don't have to use your phone lol. The software lags and drops frames on an iPhone 8+ with a 6 core cpu/gpu and 3 gigs of ram... you're gonna tell me it's fine on your gimped 1 gig of ram slow dual core cpu? Not happening, you just don't notice things like that and it's fine. I see lots of people who don't see any issues until I point it out to them. Look closer, it's there.
iPhone 4s on 6.1.3.I wonder if there are any never-iOS7 people still running iOS6 on macrumours.
Not on my primary devices.I wonder if there are any never-iOS7 people still running iOS6 on macrumours.
11.1 beta 4 runs pretty damn good on both my 6s plus and 8 Plus
I'm gonna wait til 11.3 that could probably released next yearSo far im not to impress from iOS11, so before iOS11.2 coming out, im not even thinking about iOS update. My SE working good with iOS10.3.3 (only one small bug that i learning to live with...), i can still use few 32bit apps im having, and the battery holding for 2 days! what more i can ask for... new emojis and no option to close WiFi and BT from control canter - no thanks.
AW3 made me upgrade to iOS11. Otherwise I’d still be on 10
I think some didn't consider this when they purchased the series 3, that it would require them to update to iOS 11 to take advantage of watchOS 4. But I agree with you.
Figure I be the Guinea pig. Get to use the AW3 at least. Rest of fam still in ios10
No it’s not. I just wish Apple would pay attention more to battery life when releasing updates let alone major ones. The way I look at it, Apple continually improves iOS throughout the year. iOS 11 will be eventually rectified with issues to Make it more efficient, so it's not entirely a poor decision to upgrade.

Early days of iOS 10 had the forums here filled with various people having issues of one type or another just about as much (similar to early days of iOS 9, 8, etc.).I preferred iOS 10 over iOS 11. Mainly because I thought iOS 10 was a much more well receptive update versus 11. It just seems it had less issues.

Pc world did just that. You can search for the article and form your own conclusion.Windows 10 installs and runs just fine on 15 year old hardware from the early 2000's. E.g. A pentium D with 2GB RAM. And Microsoft doesn't even control the hardware like Apple does.
I did most of the betas of iOS 11. I wasn't happy with the performance on my phone by the final release, so I downgraded to 10.3.3 and plan to stay here for as long as I use the phone. Performance is just so smooth, snappy, and stable. There are pretty much no new features in iOS 11 I'd use anyway. For me, I'd rather have my phone stay super fast for years to come rather than get some new features and cosmetic changes.
Any other iPhone 7 users doing the same?
I'm right there with HAL, although I'm on an iPhone 6s+, I am completely content with the performance of my device and 10.3.3 is one of the most solid performing versions of iOS I've ever had. This coupled with the fact they completely scrapped all 32-bit support on iOS 11 made me decide it was a no-brained to stay on 10.3.3 forever. It is extremely annoying having to have those system update messages occasionally pop up, but I just hit remind me later and I'm good. I personally am one of those people that have a ******** of $ invested in games on my phone, and I still play all of said games a ton, and probably at least half of them are 32-bit that would not be getting updated by the devs, so there is absolutely no way I am going to lose all of my favorite games that I paid good money for just to get a prettier home screen, maybe a couple of new worthless iOS apps I would never use, and worse battery life. Fu€k all that noise...I plan on keeping my 6s on 10.3.3 until it no longer works. Even a 1-hr drop in battery life is not worth updating to iOS 11 for me, not to mention I like being able to still use all the 32-bit apps I paid for
This is the first phone I've had where I am 100% satisfied with its performance and have no real desire to upgrade to a newer device. Look forward to keeping my 6s as many years as I can (getting a new battery replacement from Apple years from now if needed) and putting that money towards more important things.
