Heck yah I am going to return it. I will be saving up to $100 on Black Friday. I can put up without it for two more weeks for the additional savings. Plus when I go and sell it next year for the next Ipad, I won't take as much of a loss.

I would not trust what you were told. Check your receipt as that will rule.

i even called after reading these posts. again, apple employee told me i have until Jan 7th to return/exchange. I think the receipt is just what it will show by default. Call for yourself and check. im going with what they told me, twice now

I wonder why they told me differently at my Apple store. I purchased mine November 6th. Was told I had 2 weeks to return.

I was told the same when I purchased my Air today from The Apple store. Guy said to forget the date on the receipt. He said holiday return is until January 7th. In store or online.

yup same here

Actually, we still have almost two months because of Apple's holiday return policy.

Holy crap, I never knew about this. I was stressing out over making a decision today. This is great! Prob won't take but another few days to decide but this is still super helpful.

I think the memo about holiday returns is just now going out I was told that I hVe til January as well, and wast told that previously.

Website states Jan 7 return for In Store Pick

I ordered my Air Nov 1 and picked up in store on the 2nd. When I select Return next to my order it states "Return by January 7th." So looks like I will have some time to decide since I also have an Mini on the way.

I was thinking about the rMini, but decided to keep my air. It is perfect and screen size is money for my needs:apple:

Unless it specifically states this on their website with regards to in-store purchases, it's not correct. Or on the receipt obviously.

I went to the Apple store in Burlington, MA to return an iPad Air, and pick-up a rMini I ordered this morning.

I could not return the Air because of Apple's network outage, but was told that I could bring it in through Sunday and they would extend the return period due to the outage.

So, that's great.

That aside, I'm not sure I want to return the Air, and may return the rMini. Truth be told, the rMini's screen is inferior, and due to the density of the device, it feels "heavier" in the hand than the Air.

I frankly think both devices are ergonomically lacking in small ways.

So, the deciding factor may be my aging eyes. I guess ill use both over the next few days before I decide.

Thanks TWO2SEVEN and GJstudios. I called my local Apple store and they said it's only for products bought at the online Apple store that you have delivered. (I bought online, but picked it up in the store) So that clears that up. A shame it's not the standard policy for all iPads bought at the Apple store during that time period. I bought mine on November 6th and they told me I have 2 weeks.

So can you csn return on the 7th of January? or it does not apply to online order and pick up, just online order and deliver.

Thanks

I am not sure, sorry. I was told at my local Apple store (by 2 different people) that I only had 2 weeks, (I chose online, pickup in store) but others here say that the holiday return policy starting November 1st means you can return until January 7th nomatter how you purchased it from Apple.

That is not what I was told though, so that's why I'm unsure what to think. I would inquire at your local Apple store and see what they say.

If you purchased your ipad online and picked it up, then the holiday grace period applies to you as well.

A simple way to confirm his is by logging on to apple's website, and under your account look under orders. You'll find your past orders and if you hit 'return' it will let you know by when you may be able to return the device.

I bought mine online for in store pickup, and it says I have until 1/7/14 to return it.

I worked at Apple Retail part-time for a few years. We were always asked what the return policy is, and for 10 months out of the year, the answer is "two weeks". You just get used to saying it without really thinking about it.

When it gets closer to Black Friday, and the store layout gets reset for the holidays, and the make the employees wear the Christmas-colored t-shirts, then it's a lot harder to forget about the special holiday return period. At least for me. :)

But for the first two-three weeks of November? It's hit or miss as to if the employee remembers about it. At least at the store I worked at.

I never understood why the in-store receipts don't having the holiday return date printed on them.

The iPad Air felt like waving around a thin note pad. The iPad Mini feels like a purpose built mobile productivity tool.

I'm finding that the iPad Air has the perfect size because of on-screen typing. The mini is too small to be able to type on screen. If you use the iPad in meetings like I do without having to keep a bulky keyboard cover, you can't beat the normal Ipad's screen for typing fast.

I agree with you when typing in landscape mode. I used to hate typing on my mini in landscape cause it was too small.

If you're typing in portrait mode, however, the mini is hands down the best iOS device for this (even more so than the iPhone which is too small for typing in either mode). The letters are spaced out just enough yet the device width wise in portrait is small enough. Perfect combo.

Count me in the change of heart club. Had a cellular 16GB Air but took it back today for a space grey 16GB rMini. Glad I switched, the rMini is gorgeous!

No way going back to a small display. I had a Blackberry Playbook and that small screen drove me crazy. The iPad Air is the minimum size and it's pretty close to perfect.

The Air is a keeper following a Target $200 iPad 1 trade-in on a $479 16gb model.

Bought mine on-line @ 0205 1Nov., had it shipped, received on 4Nov., just logged into the store & I have until 7Jan 2014 as well.
